UM/ND Schadenfreude - In SEC Country

Submitted by UMichGA on
I thought this was chuckle worthy, especially if your in SEC country and have to listen to the constant whining of countless fools who believe that the SEC could cure cancer and win a battle against the ancient Persians with 22 and not lost it with 300. 16. Recruiting is easier and the NCAA is easier on Notre Dame as well. That is why the rest of us have to continually see the Irish stories and speculations over and over. Now to football... Clausen is not even the best Clausen, his brother Casey was for the Vols. This younger brother has beaten Hawaii and thats about it. Willingham was let go because of this dream of regaining National prominence again. It has never happened and won't this year, again. Michigan is in a sorry state of confusion. When your own players turn you in one of two things are true, they were either just bad apples or Michigan has a major problem. Well the fact remains, both of these programs have major problems and beating each other is not going to help much. Sorry fella's but sometimes the truth hurts and it's time to face the music. Go Vols, and good luck to you both. Lol at the best Clausen being Casey. And sorry bout the no link. I copy/pasted from my phone last week and forgot to grab it. -UMichGA

A buddy of mine lives in the heart of LSU country and he, like the majority of SEC fans, thinks that Rich Rod has brought SEC like speed to an otherwise SLOW Big 10 conference and will ultimately cause Michigan to be in national title contention each year. That being said, all SEC fans do hate ND with a passion.

we will be adopted as an honorary SEC team so they can still say the Big Ten is slow and stuck in the 70's when UM rightfully rules this conference? I'm sure they will only admit UM has speed if they are allowed an * to note that the particular player came from the South. I want the Big Ten to return to national prominence, but I only want it to happen if it is because of UM, not OSU or PSU.

Whoever wrote that post is way offbase. For one, who is he to say that the "truth hurts" when he is an admitted Vols fan. And I'm still trying to figure out with Catholicism has to do with his argument... Is the SEC the best conference? Probably, but that doesn't mean there are good teams elsewhere in the country. Utah is not in the best conference, and they looked pretty good against Alabama last year.

Notice how the conventional wisdom promulgated by the Free Press has taken hold? In no way, football or otherwise, is Michigan a mess; we are a better football team than during the last couple years, with athletes getting better grades, fewer player disciplinary issues, and more excitement. Yet, because some bitter popinjay wrote otherwise, perception trumps reality.

I had the same exact reaction to that part of the post. I was just calming down from the whole Free Press fracas and now I'm absolutely steamed again. I guess we'll have to put up with this BS to some extent for the rest of the season (and probably beyond). Michigan just needs to keep working on improving and winning some football games. Go Blue!

This is why Martin is hiring the big name outside parties to conduct the investigation. He wants to crush the issue and never hear about it again. When an independent third party who is beyond reproach says "all clear" this thing dies right then. If there was a concern about the findings of the review it would have been handled entirely within the AD and brushed under the rug.

Don't worry too much about what Vols fans say. They are the most delusional fans in football. I've lived in Kingsport, Tn. for the past 26 years. These people still think that Peyton Manning deserved the Heisman Trophy in 1997 just because he came back for his senior year. Two weeks ago the fans were ready to make Lane Kiffin governor of the state. Today while listening to sports radio while taking my daughter to school, the sentiment has changed to we've taken a big step back from Phillip Fulmer. They'll always find something to complain about. The only thing they can agree on is that the SEC is the only football conference in America.

I recently moved to SEC country and as soon as they all found out I was from Michigan and a big M fan I was told how each SEC team basically has Jesus line up at all 11 positions. I watched some games the first week with guys and heard the same things over and over. Things like: "That's SEC speed." or "That's how we hit in the SEC!" or "He's too small to play in the SEC." When it came time to the Michigan game against Western there were groans that we had to watch the game. Tate's play throughout the first half and Denard's run quickly changed their tune. Questions like "Where is he from?" and "He's only a freshman?" took place of all their SEC blah.

parks a Maize & Blue Lamborghini that's "got" wings painted on the hood on the 50 yard line for a team omg shirtless portrait, just maybe, M's program could reach the stability of Kiffykin's program/psyche.

Seriously, a Vols fan in saying the Irish and Wolverines have major problems? That's where the schadenfreude comes from! I mean, they have more losing seasons in the last 4 years than we've had in my lifetime!
