I agree with you. He represents himself far beyond his age. I especially like the fact that he said he would never be totally happy with his game. That shows that he will be one of those player/athletes that put everything they have into what they want to do. I can't wait to see him in Maize and blue! Thanks for the thread!

The more I hear about Morris whether it's interviews or highlight videos or combines, the more I like this kid. And I really liked the kid the first time I saw his highlight video. Has he said anything about whether he's going to early enroll (way to early to ask that?). If we didn't have Devin, I think he could challenge for the starting QB spot in his first two years (he'd probably red shirt).

No doubt about this.  Big time offensive players want to play on a team with a great QB, be it receivers (especially), backs or linemen.  Recruits know that having a top QB gives them the best shot at winning championships and they'll want to be in the same class as one.

Have a legit shot to be the number one rated recruit in the country in 2013. He's the rare recruit who is already super skilled, and who has a limitless upside.

But this appears to be the first class in recent memory, that openly talks of a National Championship, and I love it. I think that's what has been missing more than anything, is that level of realizing who the hell we are. This is Michigan, you need to return to the point that if we aren't winning a NC, then the season is a failure.

As a Michigan alum I'm obviously going to hope for a NC every year, but this University has had a lot of great seasons that didn't involve one. The goal should be a NC but I will never consider a Rose Bowl team or a Big Ten Title team to be a failure.

I think we've got ourselves a special one here.  With his talent and attitude, the sky is the limit for this kid.  Good to see that we will be going back to being Quarterback U and putting a lot of guys into the NFL.  That was probably the toughest thing to give up when we went to the RR spread as exciting as that was at times.

so if our starter is gonna be a lefty, do we start grooming our biggest O-lineman for right tackle? Is there even any difference in playing between LT and RT?

Keep in mind that it will be 3 or 4 years until he sees the field.  He still has his junior and senior years of high school, if Devin gets a medical redshirt he'll be here three more seasons, and between Bellomy and anyone we land this year (Kiel) it could be 5 years.

There is a big difference but you do not take a kid that is perfect for the Left Tackle position and move him to RT because the mechanichs are all different.  You play your best linemen at the position they have the most ability to play.  A guy like Jake Long would have stayed at LT even with a left handed QB.

Shane Morris: “Yes I try to pattern my game after quarterbacks such as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. They’re as close to being perfect as you can get at the position and they choose push themselves everyday like their rookies again.”

>they choose push themselves everyday like their rookies again.

How sad it is that the universities academic standards fallen so low as to recruit football players with such a mediocre grasp of the english language and it's spelling.

It seems Harbaugh was right after all.

You also left out "have".  "The University's academic standards have fallen..."

Also, there's nothing wrong with a "mediocre" grasp of the English language (the E should be capitalized).  Not having achieved fluency seemed like a prerequisite for my GSIs in the Math, Phyics, and Statistics departments.
