UM vs. OSU 2006, on ESPN Classic right now
We know how it ends, and yeah, it's a bummer, but I'm still watching it b/c it was the last time we were really good. Anyone else watching?
BTW, a "roughing the center" penalty was just called. I don't remember than happening when I watched this game live and never even knew that was an actual penalty. Weird.

I loved the way we upset #2 OSU. That Griese to Street winning TD pass was priceless there in the horseshoe. Probably one of my all time most satisfying wins!
expect the best
Yeah, definitely not watching this. I was there. That was enough.
My ESPN classic game is the 1999 one where Michigan wins 24-17 with Brady hitting Marquise Walker for winning TD.

so fantastic at the time. Great game. Very emotional time and tomorrow will be as well. I wouldn't be suprised if the bucks have a moment on the M for the spielmans. That would be cool and would motivate everyone.
it is necessary to avoid a paralysis of analysis and an analysis of paralysis, unless you are immobilized and then, what the hell.
Watching back made me think of the last time we had a player pull the #1 Jersey over his shoulder pads. Normally it is given to a dominating receiver that is clearly above the others. However, with our current offense the chances of having a Biletnikoff quality receiver is slim given that we rotate receivers so often and distribute the ball around so much.
That is not to say that balance is a bad thing - it is nice to have an offense with 5 or 6 receivers that can rotate in and out without the offense missing a beat and I would rather have multiple receivers with 200 to 400 yards at the end of the season than one receiver with 1000.
That being said, it would be pretty cool if BG came out of the tunnel in the #1 jersey tomorrow and lined up against Boren. I was at the pep rally on the Diag tonight when BG, RR and Zoltan spoke to the crowd. BG was so pumped up when he spoke to the crowd, you could just feel his intensity. It will be sad to see him pound his heart tomorrow to get the crowd fired up knowing that it will be his last game.

You're right about that first drive, Michigan looked so damn good on it. Two big Henne to Manningham catches, and the Hart TD. Seems like Lloyd went away from Mario after that drive
Except for when he came wide open for a 70 yard TD with the game tied at 7..........only to have Henne overthrow him.
I think the universe hates Michigan fans.

for the 2006 game for me.
I vividly remember the roughing the center as it is as elusive as Bigfoot.
Due to "popular" demand:

The thing I remember this game was Crables "illegal hit" on Troy Smith.
BTW the 1999 game is on at 9 o'clock

The 2006 Michigan team would be playing in a NC this year.

I hate myself for watching in the vain hope that it will turn out differently this time.
...I just can't take watching it knowing the outcome. The Capitol One Bowl vs. Tebow/Florida however I can watch in repeating loops all day. Ditto for the 1969 OSU game - that one is a treat.
Both of these squads weren't incredible teams. If UM had won, I don't know how well they would have matched up with Florida.
Oh I dunno, I'd say they'd match up pretty much the same as they did the following year in the Capital One Bowl...
I still think OSU was better than Florida that year. OSU just didn't show up to play in that title game. But take nothing away from Florida, they outplayed OSU to win that title.
and recall being in the stands watching it live for my first time. Loved watching that team, with Brady, A-Train, Terrel, Dhani Jones etc. Great talent.
EDIT: As i mentioned above, my ESPN classic feature is the 1999 game. Much different outcome and set of memories.
