Sounds fun. Might watch a little when I can.

Normally don't watch softball until the BTT (It is my UM Spring Sport, but I just like a little offseason after being tired out by football, hockey, and basketball).

It's nice to catch a game or two during the season though!

Nice game from Meghan Beaubien (24-2), going the distance, allowing two hits and no walks with seven strikeouts. It's her 20th straight start in which she's earned the W. Not a great game from the offense. The only run scored on aggressive baserunning from pinch-runner Thais Gonzalez, who was called safe at the plate on catcher obstruction. Looked like the catcher gave Gonzalez an inadvertent cleat to the nose on the play, though it was a by-the-book obstruction call. I thought freshman Natalia Rodriguez excelled at shortstop in this one. Beaubien was consistently hitting 68 on ESPNs gun, in all areas of the strike zone. Her command is what's been remarkable this season - opponents are having a lot of trouble picking a pitch to drive. Lots of ground-ball outs, which is why having such a capable freshman at short has been a big deal this year.

Need to turn up the offense though I remember hanging 20 on MSU. Pitching does win games but so does outscoring the other team. But a win is a win, GO BLUE!

MSU is not a good team, so the lack of offense is frustrating here.  Thank goodness we've got Beaubien in the circle, who can lock things down.  The offense has shown some fire in recent weeks, but it hasn't become consistent yet.  Hopefully they can get there over the course of the Big Ten season.
