I'll be sure not to accidentally turn into the BTN while it's on.

Painful finish, but worth seeing the idiot Hope with his post-game on-field performance with RR. That will be avenged soon enough.

...and it's not like he was above running it up at his former location.
I hope we see it because Danny Hope is a dirtbag.

Only thing I can think of when watching this game is: Why is Danny Hope such an angry dick?
I hope Rodriguez hangs 60 on 'em next season.
August 14th, 2010 at 11:15 AM ^
Do you really think he's going to call the dogs off that early?

It's a return to tradition. Shut up all the haters who clame Rich Rod isn't a Michigan man by going as old school as it gets...Fielding Yost, "Point-a-Minute" offense
(Fielding yost averaged 49.5 points per game during that span, a number I also could live with)

That would be glorious and sure way to guarantee a10 win season.... Right?
August 14th, 2010 at 10:55 AM ^
Everything changed when they recovered that onside kick to begin the third quarter. I hate those bastards.

I got excited to have a HD Michigan game to go with my morning birthday(!) coffee. So I flip it on, only to see a 20 yard purdue pass over two defenders. I take a slow slip of my coffee and remember that there is no reason to watch anything from 2009. Why would you torment people like that?
August 14th, 2010 at 11:08 AM ^
I agree, but really you can watch some of our players and focus less on "the outcome" and focus more on how the play developed. For example, even on that pass play you're referring to, TWoolf was on him, but got fooled on the run route. He recovered but was about .3 secs to slow. I also am trying too look specifically at what the LBs are doing right/wrong.

There are moments of hope.....JB sack. Leach INT.

The one good thing about Minor graduating is that I never have to hear the horrible BTN announcers utter the phrase "Minor is becoming major."
So so so so bad.

Awesome that after Roh's hit in the backfield, they said GERG thought Roh could get up to 250 by the end of his career. Soiphomore year roster--listed at 251. Barwis'd.

makes it even tougher for me to imagine that Denard has passed him up in camp. Then I remember the OSU game and it all kind of makes sense.

Is anyone else watching this, with 12:00 left in the 3rd, knowing we lose the game, but thinking we might pull off the win?
For god sakes it's 30-17..
EDIT: Missed the extra point..

losing to sparty two years in a row is bad but to lose to these clowns to years in a row makes me ill. its just an awful program, not that sparty is a good one just to clarify.

It amazes me that people seem to count this kid out, talking about Denard or DG. The rumored summer attitude/maturity issues aside, this game is another bit of actual evidence that Forcier can play. This blog sometime forgets that his play was IMPRESSIVE last year as a true freshman. I see no reason at all why he can't be an all-american QB.
August 14th, 2010 at 11:41 AM ^
summer work ethic that denard and DG have it wouldn't be close. he's better than both of them IMO but as the saying goes, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard

Watching this game is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. It's exciting until the crash actually happens-then a horrible feeling deep in the gut. I remember sitting on the edge of my couch watching these games last year and going through the whole spectrum of emotions. Hopefully, this season wont be so gut wrenching.
On a positive note, this game reinforces my belief that the offense will be explosive. I almost forgot how good Roundtree truly is and how great Forcier can be-even though he makes me want to break things at other times. No matter who the quarterback is I'm confident that we will put up points in bunches. I'm hoping the defense can atleast improve to the bend-but-not- break variety and limits some of those mind boggling mistakes. I don't care if we allowed like 5 field goals a game, in the place of all those big plays we allowed. September cannot get here quick enough.

I never watch losses a second time. And I am tired of Michigan being the foil for everybody else's upset celebrations. I am hoping that next summer, I want to watch all of the Michigan games when they are replayed.
Let Revenge Tour 2010 begin.

We would have won this had Olesnavage not missed that extra point.
Then we would have taken the boost from that much needed big ten victory, and knocked off Wisconsin. We would have gone to a bowl game.
Damn you, Olesnavage.

XP didn't make a big difference in my mind. Yeah, we would have tied it up at 38 with XP on that last TD, but Purdue had 3 timeouts left with just over 2 minutes to go. I have little doubt in my mind that they would have easily scored. I mean, they did put up 38 points already and would have only needed to get in FG range.
August 14th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
We gave up four points this game due to a missed XP and a missed FG. You make those two kicks and we win
August 14th, 2010 at 12:20 PM ^
The right side was open for Tate to take off on that 2pt attempt... Oh well.. Bad memories.
August 14th, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
I've never watched that game for a second time, if we don't miss that extra point we go in overtime and probably could have pulled it out. At least we have plenty of motive to go down there and absolutely destroy them this year after the utter lack of class by Danny Hope after the game had ended.
August 14th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
We were up 24-10 at the half and had the ball to start the third quarter. If we hadn't turned it over to start the half, we may well have won going away.
August 14th, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
No thanks. I think I'll just gouge my own eyes out instead.
