This UM-OSU Hype Video Will Still Get You Pumped

Submitted by BursleyBaitsBus on

There are a good amount of hype videos every year for UM-OSU, but none of them still capture the intensity of the rivalry like this one.

I wish the guy who made it would update it a bit, preferably after M gets the W this weekend!

Enjoy!

I think this is the closest I've seen to someone splitting things right down the middle. They tried to balance every Michigan shot with an Ohio State shot, and vice versa.

Also, it's easy to miss the significance of some of the shots. It rewards careful watching--a shot some might interpret as a pro-OSU shot may actually be Tim Biakabatuka carrying three Buckeye defenders in 1995.

Just to reiterate on this point: There were a number of Michigan TDs, including Anthony Carter and Mike Hart and Jim Harbaugh throwing to (I forget who, earlier in the 1985 game, not the long Kolesar bomb) and the epic Drew Henson naked bootleg that clinched what is still Michigan's last win in Columbus. Might be a couple that I didn't catch, too.

Yes, I rewatched the video to check. No, I'm not sorry. Yes, I am actually glad you made this (understandable, it's a quick-cut video) error to give me an excuse to watch it again. Upvote to you; it's all your fault.

Although the stakes on this game already had me pretty hyped and wishing that Saturday would just get here, the video definitely helps with that as well.

Actually, now I was Saturday to get here faster - where the hell is that DeLorean when you need it?

Thanks for sharing, OP.

Yep, that was made for the 2011 season. Still, I think it's great. It would be nice to have more recent footage though.

I loved the flipping back and forth through the Desmond/Woodson highlights.  I flashed to the thought of how awesome it would be to win the game this year on a KR by Peppers.

I like the message and the inclusion of these two teams all-time stats. Puts into better perspective with absolute clarity the reason why this Rivarly Game is simply known as The Game and why its revered nationwide.

If anyone has hype videos, documentaries, etc for the Michigan vs OSU rivalry could you please paste the link or direct me to some good videos. I'm trying to show my kid how big this game has been over the years and what the rivalry is all about. So any help would be appreciated.

I'm glad you brought this up. This video was great when it was released and is still among the best out there, with extra points for emphasizing the whole of the rivalry. I've already watched it a couple of times this week. A few. A handful. A lot. Whatever.
