In my bleary-eyed pre-coffee world, I saw  the thread  title and thought to myself, "Michigan's helmets were ranked at the factorial of the cardinality of some unmentioned set? Doesn't make a lot of sense..." Then, I realized he meant #1.

It's gotta be intimidating for the opposition to see that mass of maize and blue helmets on the other side of the field.

I'm glad they put a stop to the experimental oversized versions they were toying with a couple years ago. I think they were a little overdone.

OK, at first I thought there was some photo shopping go on there, but then I read your comment about eh experimenting on the over sized helmets.

That helmet looks ridiculous and even worse on Tate considering his size.

I read through approx the first 50 comments after the article and while there were all kinds of outcries regarding many of those included, literally no one objected to M.  One guy thought OU should be first and M second and another said tsio should be @1 because he felt they have the best fan base.  That's it.  Oh yea, and a number of disappointed Sparties present!  A nice friday morning read!

I have never heard of Colorado's uniforms being mentioned as good, bad, or even nuetral. I can think of no college football uniform or helmet less opinion inspiring than Colorado.  Strange pick at No. 10, but I like is his top five.

While we're on the subject of the #! helmet, imagine, if you will, the view from inside Michigan Stadium if instead of, or in addition to, maize-out games, some guy with more money than he knows what to do with provided game helmets for everyone.

That would look sick!

Should have excluded:  Tennessee, BYU, LSU, WVa, Arizona - I see nothing particularly interesting or inspiring about these helmets.

Should have included: Iowa, Virginia (it's cool, man, although their history kinda sucks), Cal, Oklahoma

Georgia should have been way higher, notre dame's helmets aren't any cooler than Navy's, PSU has a cool UNIFORM, but the helmets by themselves are just ok, imo.  I'd have Texas as number 2.

michigan state has a case, but their helmets just change so darn frequently - it's the classic numbers!  no, it's the classic S on one side!  no, it's the classic S on both sides!  no, it's the classic spartan!  no, it's the classic plain helmet!  with classic green!  no, classic iridescent green!
