UM Golf Commit (Joey Garber) wins Michigan Amateur
Joey Garber, an incoming golf recruit, won the Michigan Amateur yesterday. It looks like our golf team might be on the way up, with good showings in the Big Ten these past few years, and an NCAA appearance.

Anyway, this weekend, she just won the LPGA Championship by 12 shots; a new record margin of victory.
Joey is a great addition for the 2011 recruiting class - he is a stick and comes from a great family. Joey held offers to great golf programs down south before choosing to be a Wolverine. The mere fact that we got him to U of M is a sign of our program's improvement over the past few years. M-Golf quietly had the second highest NCAA finish (3rd) of any U of M varsity team in '08/'09.
I'm trying to think of the last time that Michigan's golf team got this kind of quality recruit from in-state. It's been a long time, and hasn't happened very often. Some very good things happening with Men's Golf right now.
