UM fans never cease to amaze me.Only 3,000 more!
We may have had some rough news lately but to see that we have "raised" almost $12,000 in one day to help Brian and all the other writers is awesome! I really enjoyed the past HTTV so was glad to send some money to try and help out some. Lets try and get to that $20,000 before the end of next week! Thanks to all that helped out so far and if you have never ordered HTTV before THIS is the year to do it!! Go Blue!!
Edit: Unreal! there is a real chance to get to $20,000 tonight! I hope this shows Brian and everyone that is apart of this blog what it means to us fans.
The Blog. The Blog. The Blog.
the donations will slow considerably. I think it needs to get to between 75-80% in the next few days to be a comfortable amount.
Agreed. The key is for us to tell our friends and family. I have a lot of M buddies and relatives who I know don't read MGoBlog but would love to pre-order HTTV or have purchased it in past years. I sent an email out to about 8 people who I know all will click the link and pay at least the 15 bucks. If everyone does that we'll be there in no time.
I wouldn't worry about that.
Haha, moves quick, huh?
We'll be at 20k before close of business tomorrow. I bet we're at 17+ before I go to bed tonight.
are more people reading the blog than only the users that have an account and comment. It could be at $20,000 in less than 24 hours of it's inception. That's seriously impressive.
It raised $16,500 in about 6 hours. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too difficult to raise the last $3500 in the next 29 days.
I can only hope that 10k of that is from a single donor and Brian has to keep his promise of the birthday party appearance.
Hoping he'll be available for my hedgehog's first birthday this June!

It appears that the $10k donation mark still has a 0 next to it.
Not to take any credit away from us as a group, but I'd say we "spent" 12 grand, not raised it. This isn't for a cancer fund, this is to buy Michigan stuff. Now, it does show the quality of HTTV as well as the intensity of our fandom that there are 330+ people who have already pre-ordered the book on the first day they heard about it.
Most of the credit goes to Brian and crew for putting out a good product.
I like to support anyone who goes it alone. Have my own business and sunk a lot of money of my own into it so it's nice to be able to help someone out who is going through the same thing.
I just did it for the shirt. Oh and to get the magazine, but mostly for the shirt.
This shirt is tremendous!
Wait, there's a magazine involved too?

I underestimate how big Mgoblog is
It's surprising how often I see people on MGoBlog during classes. Probably around 40% of the guys in my classes on computers open up MGoBlog at some point (at least in the more relaxed classes, in more intense ones not so much). It really does have a pretty big readership (with the majority being lurkers, who do not have accounts). Does anyone know the stats on the number of hits MGoBlog gets regularly?
According to Compete, mgoblog receives 50,300 monthly unique visitors. This means that there are 50,300 people who go to mgoblog at least once in a month.
Obviously some visit more than others.
If all of those poeple pre-ordered the book, and no non-MGoBlogger did, that would still be over $750k! No wonder we're getting to 20k so fast.
How much time you spend on here....
Uhhhh....never mind.
30000+ MGoPoints? M-Wolverine probably goes to MGoBlog occasionally.
I pledged, and to me, for the experience I get here, it is worth every penny.
How good is it? I'll put it this way - my 69 year old father, an Indiana alum and MGoBlog lurker, has opted to pledge $100.
Damn, your dad's rich.

Hey, I am an IU Alum and Mgoblog lurker
please tell me I am not your dad
Hehe. 69%
Okay, what's going on... Can someone fill me in please?
Read the front page.
Either go to the front page or click the Hail to the Victors kickstarter in the upper right hand corner.
Front page, underneath the depressing B-Ball news, "Kickstarting Hail To The Victors" or something like that
Oh yes. It will be mine.
you posted this about 40 mins ago and we were at "almost" 12,000 and now it's over 14,000. Like....DAMN
well played.

And now we're done (and still climbing)
One of these should be created to bring back the old point system. Have enough money for that in5-10 minutes.
Best $100 I've spent all week. Don't know what I'd do in August without my HTTV to get me through fall camp and the last few days until the first game.
It feels good, regardless. Can't wait to see the final product (having full faith the $20Racks will be raised).
I wouldn't exactly declare it on my taxes...
Probably not! (Was a joke for those out there in the IRS ranks...)
Those who donate will be champions.
LOL @ 11W's fundraising.
In their defense they're not offering magazines in exchange for their donations. But in defense of someone who doesn't agree with that defense if everyone is willing to pay $15 for the magazine and everything on top of that is fluff (minus the t-shirt I guess as well), he's gotten about $6,000-$8,000 in "donations" in just one day. That;s about 1/2-2/3 of what they've gotten in 2 months. Not too shabby.

That and most of their cash is tied up in purchasing memorabillia.
^BA-ZINGA!
Of course I would spend a little extra to get the autographed version, BUT THEN I REALIZE IT NEEDS TO BE PRESERVED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. So then you pop another 15 down to get an issue you can look through. Genious.
I can't wait to include a photobomb picture of Brian as a receipt to my accountant come tax time. Boom! Business expense.
Interestingly, on the 2009 edition Brandon Minor is running with a football with the Michigan logo on it. I thought the away team brought the game balls?
Each team uses their own ball.
I believe each team uses their own balls when on offense.
Wait, that sounds dirty.
I knew that. I was just uh.. testing to see if you guys knew that.
Brian is sitting, shaking his head, "Should've asked for $30k."
