UM Engineering develops "cloaking spray paint"
SIAP, I did a search and did not find anything on this.
A cloaking paint developed by Michigan Engineers sprays on clear and dries invisible. Once dry, it guides light around an object, causing it to become transparent.
As nanotechnology blurs the line between science and science fiction, Christoph Ellison has developed a paint that guides rays of light around an object. Still in development, the distortions allow the outline of the object to be seen, preventing true invisibility.
Wow, just........wow.
Could explain Channing Stribling's "fade out" plays? /s
Hey man, did you perchance check the date that the article and video were posted?
Confirmed, April Fools.

insert joke here...
When you say "insert joke here," usually you don't then insert an actual joke.
point LordG.
My girlfriend has a tattoo that says "Insert joke here" with an arrow.
I know it is an April Fool's joke, but I think it is totally possible. They could develop it using Jeremy Gallon's DNA.
First mention of Jeremy Gallon gets an El Jeffe MGoPoint.
Thought it was real for a second as well. It's not like it's entirely implausible given the advancements from Quantum Stealth in cloaking technology.
It would be an inconcievably large jump in technology, given that right now the best we can do is make a very tiny object significantly less "visible" to a thing that measures microwaves.
Yes. Swan Flu doesn't know what he's talking about.
it was really something when they made a spray that made things water proof. If they ever make this product for real, consider my mind completely blown.

You're probably talking about that. If you read the actual article and not just the headline, you'll see that it only works on small objects and only with microwaves.
The headline is "a type of cloth can make objects invisible to light!" in reality, the light they are referring to is microwave radiation, which is a form of "light". But it isn't in the visible spectrum, so it's not invisible in the sense we typically think of.
Put me down for a can of that please!
Thank God it's a joke, this would have given the Romulans the advantage they need to compete with the big boys.
Dammit! Totally felt for it. I didn't figure it out until I checked the date.
I felt for it too. Unfortunately due to the cloaking spray I couldn't find it and just swung my hands in front of me in despair.
Tacopants has been using that stuff, on and off, for years.
Yup... originally tested on our Fab Five banners.
I thought Coleman had those taken down because of the big scandal.
Did she take your sarcasm meter too?
No. But she may have taken yours.
Right back at ya.
I'll sit in the corner for 5 minutes
approves.
Sadly, the first thing I thought of was the great April Fools jokes I could play with that, but I didn't realize it was a joke on me.
I am ashamed and a terrible representative of Michigan.
I really hate April Fool's.
I was totally fooled... damn it!... back to real life....
I didn't believe it for a second...
Last year they did something about teleportation as well.
Everybody already knows that the gov worked with secret Nazi collaborators to discover "invisibility" back in 1948 with the notoriuos Philadephia experiment.
Although I suppose an invisibility paint would be an improvement over the razzle-dazzle paint jobs:
Someone posted this on Facebook a couple days ago. I didn't watch/read it and just assumed it was a joke. I saw it here, and decided to watch it and see what it was all about. I actually did believe it was true and that I had just rushed to judgement to quickly on this the other day. And then I saw the article that said it was indeed an April Fool's joke after all. This roller coaster of emotions as now made me sad.
