According to Steve Wiltfong from 247, Adolphus' top 5 include Michigan, UK, Miami, Bama, and MSU, per his father. Yes, that is correct, OSU is not in it.

Has he visited yet? or is there a plan for him to visit?
"A flute with no holes is not a flute. A donut with no hole is a danish"
No, he hasn't. He's trying to get up here with Dwayne Stanford.
Admittedly, I don't know shit about recruiting, but if we're in his top 5 you'd think he would eventually visit us.
"A flute with no holes is not a flute. A donut with no hole is a danish"
he better hurry there's only ~200 days left until signing day!!
He was supposed to make it at the end of June, but it fell through. Last I heard he and Stanford were trying to make it up by the end of July.
OSU Blog meltdown watch commencing now.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
No meltdown, in the thread they have on Bucknuts about it they're saying "Once the sanctions come down and prove to be nothing he will come back, along with many others"
That's very optimistic and ignorant of them. I would expect nothing less.
I find it hilarious that the folks on Bucknuts cannot apparently conceive of a scenario in which the sanctions might be near-fatal. Is Denial truly the civic religion in Columbus now?
"Funny isn't it, how naughty dentists always make that one fatal mistake."

The article did say he's going to wait until after he finds out what OSU's sanctions will be. But, you have to think we're in the lead at this point.
I am a little skeptical about us leading at this point only because he hasn't actually been on campus yet. But it definitely is plausible. Does anyone know which schools he has visited so far?
"Tears are salty. Sweat is salty. One gets you pity, the other gets you results"
-Former Michigan soccer coach Steve Burns
Pretty sure he hasn't gone to any of his finalists yet. He said he wants to schedule the visits soon. I'm pretty sure they both talked about announcing at the AA game, so we still have a while for them.
ITS GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE
Stanford mentioned he went to Kentucky the weekend he was supposed to visit us. UK is one of his finalists.
says the Michigan staff xld a visit earlier this year? Anyone remember the details of that?
aren't even on our schedule! /s
Srsly though, if these two went blue together, it would fill two key remaining 2012 spots with top talent. It may even prompt decisions from a couple others.
"I promise you we would have walked to the University of Michigan." - Brady Hoke
Is it really possible that he *and* Wormley could commit? Someone's gotta be moving to the inside, right?
This could explain the "one more DT" thing. If we took Washington, Wormley, Pipkins, and O'Brien, I think that would be 12 guys for the defensive front seven. It would be an amazing haul, but that seems like a lot of guys for one class.
Strobel, Godin, and Washington could all play the 3-tech in the future. I'm more worried about the nose tackle than the 3-tech.
Any chance this portends a possible shift in defensive formation in coming years? Something akin to a 4-3 stack, where you don't need a true nose?
I doubt it. Mattison has been a 4-3 Under or 3-4 guy his entire career. He's too old to change now.
One of these is not like the others.
It's not UK.
Who was the recruit that said that the academic presentation blew him away when he visited? The name slipped my mind, but I remember that he had said we did a spectacular job of selling the education you receive at Michigan. This very well could work nicely in our favor.
OL Blake Bars, I believe
Every time an MGoBoard poster complains about a thread topic, God kills a baby panda.
I believe it was Caleb Stacey's parents who were "blown away" by the academics side of Michigan (http://mgoblog.com/diaries/tomvh-commit-caleb-stacey-visit-reaction) and Tom Strobel who was surprised by Michigan's "academic reputation" (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ohio-de-comments-michigans-academic-reputation).
In your defense, though, a lot of prospects and commitments have positive comments regarding Michigan's academics.
"I recently heard from fans and friends that Michigan will be great again one day. In my opinion, Michigan never stopped being great." --Zac Ciullo
the poster is referring to Bars as he said the recruit said UM did a spectacular job (which Blake did) not that the parents were blown away.
I couldn't find anything on Blake's comments about our academics. A link would be appreciated.
On a side note, I've been reading this blog for a couple of years, but never have I been this interested (I'm scared to use the word 'obsessed') in our recruiting process. Hoke uber alles?

Hoke uber alles indeed!
I don't have a link, just going off memory. He said something along the lines of how impressed he was when they got to take in the academic side of UM on their visit and that he would like another chance to meet with the academic people there. To be perfectly honest, I can't say 100% percent that quote came from him, that is just what I remember (I would say I am 90% sure it was Bars).
I actually thought his father said that. I could be wrong but I'm almost positive a recruit's father said that.
Yep, that's Simba made out of a pineapple.
Are you thinking about OL Steven Elmer (2013) ?

I havn't followed Washington to closely. Who is the biggest challenger for us out of those other 4.....I always fear talented recruits will drink the "Saban Kool-Aid".
HAIL to the victors!
I think he has always intended on visiting. I think we have always been in the conversation, but I doubt anyone is leading.
Shocked that OSU is not on the list...they must be destroying this kid over on Hineygate for being a traitor right about now.
I think he will visit, and visit means we have a chance. I LOVE this kid...he and Wormley makes our DL elite for the next few years.

I love how often we're seeing recruit's lists exclude OSU! I noticed that Monday with Tom's update - all of those guys listing 10/11 elite schools and OSU nowhere to be seen, then yesterday with Lewis's dad saying that they would pick any Big Ten school except Ohio, now this! Its great to see that this scandal seems to be destroying their reputation with recruits!
109,901 Seats, 351 Big Ten Championships, 116 Olympic Medalists, 44 National Championships, 26 Rhodes Scholars, 18 Puliltzer Prizes, 8 Astronauts, 3 Heisman Trophies, 1 US President, 1 Tradition of Excellence
'Bama is probably the biggest challenger to Michigan for the following reasons:
1) SABAN!!!!!!!!!!!
2) The SEC roolz!!!!!!!
3) 'Bama boosters/hostesses
4) 'Bama is a popular pick to make it to the MNC game this season (no snark on this one)
We ARE Michigan....COME GET SOME!!!
Depends on the hostess...

Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
Some OSU fans are so delusional! This whack job over on the Bucknuts forum just said " most are expecting minimal sanctions, i'm hearing most kids are just holding their spots at other schools, until this blows over". They have lost their minds! I wonder if the poor bastards in Hitler's bunker sounded like this?
but what he says could well be true. A lot of the guys the buckeyes are losing out on were once super heavy OSU leans (locks even) and have chosen other schools. With that in mind you have to assume the major reason was fear in regard to the penalties that OSU would face as a result of the NCAA investigation.
If the NCAA decides that OSU should get off easy, it wouldn't surprise me if a few of these Ohio players who committed to other schools don't flip to OSU (not saying any of ours will, just that some Ohio recruits might).
I have to say that given the circumstances (Tressel resigning and Pryor leaving) I am a little concerned the NCAA might give OSU a slap on the wrist. They have done nothing in the recent past to give me any confidence that they understand the notion of "the punishment should fit the crime".
Conventional wisdom would suggest with both JT and TP gone the only one left to punish is the University.
are convinced that the BMV finding no wrong doing in the car deal case means the NCAA will take it easy on them. I have to admit that I'm starting to fear that they will get a slap on the wrist too. There haven't been any more LOA's from the NCAA with the new stories that surfaced, cargate turned up nothing (so far), and there appears to be no evidence in the Talbott case. Plus the new stories with UNC, Oregon and Georgia are taking the spotlight off Columbus.
Wow, very surprising that OSU isn't there. We really have to get him and Stanford on campus and make an impression.
