Ufer at Practice
Didn't see it anywhere else but I wanted to point you to an outstanding Michigan Daily article about practices this week.
Snippets:
Walking across the Crisler Arena parking lot yesterday, I heard that raspy, half-gone voice — the one that practically pleaded for a Michigan victory for 37 years on the radio — the one so passionate, it almost felt like Michigan had 12 guys on the field.
After a while, I realized it had to be coming from beyond the steel fences of Schembechler Hall’s practice facility. The Wolverines, who have been known to play songs like the GS Boyz' “Stanky Legg” before practice to get pumped up, were listening to old tapes of Bob Ufer calling the "Ten Year War" between Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler.

That's not true RR doesn't get the rivalry. The MSM are such douchebags. I hate everyone right now. I want a win so bad.

I agree with your sentiments.

What a treat for some of those players who don't know much about Ufer. That man gets me more excited than any person in the world about Michigan football! Wish I could have grown up listening to him.

this is very cool! i'm sure both young and old appreciated a glimpse into the storied history of the rivalry.

The day they came to bury Michigan,
All wrapped in Maize and Blue.
The words were said,
The prayers were read,
And everybody cried.
But when they closed the coffin,
There was someone else inside!
Oh, the Buckeyes came to bury the Wolverines,
But Michigan wasn't dead!
And when the game was over,
It was someone else instead!
Twenty-two Michigan Wolverines
Put on the gloves of grey,
And as Revelli played 'The Victors',
They laid Woody Hayes away!

Simply reading this gets me fired up! Jim Tressel fits in there nicely...

too fired up. I just read that poem out loud and I want to run into something.
They should play Ufer over the PA system instead of music for the pregame. Talk about a Circle of DEATH!
They shouls also play The Team speech for the players in the lockerroom before the game.
