They just didn't execute.

UPDATES

All purchases made so far through this promotion, though, will be honored -- per Michigan RE: Coca Cola-gate.

In other news, my followers on Twitter (several post here) have held me to this: if he's hired, I will buy the same cheap ass pleated khakis that Harbaugh buys from Walmart (yeah, yeah) and wear them for every single game he coaches at Michigan, if he is hired. Even if it's 80-plus degrees.

is admitting is that to avoid the embarrasment of 7,000 empty seats in your stadium you're going to do what Eastern f'ing Michigan does and ask a sponser to buy those unused tickets.

Super, just f'ing super.  I'd like to say this is the low point but there are 8 games left.

They are doing this so that they don't have to announce the 100,000 "attendance" streak has been broken.

Which is ironic since it's based on tickets sold and not actual attendance.  They can make up any bullshit number they want, and already do.  Why go through the charade?  Just lie about it like you will do anyway.

The problem is that jackass Brandon is more concerned with having a full house for TV, or the 100,000 streak continue for PR purposes, than to preserve the University's status as a premier institution.

You can pay a guy a million bucks a year, but that doesn't make him a class act.

Our rivals couldn't even dream this kind of thing up. It's really unbeliveable that I think we can't sink any lower and yet we continute to do so. I can't imagine what it's going to look like after the OSU game. I feel like I'm watching the titanic sink with Mattison crying and this bullshit today.

I have no problem with this promotion.  It is the market price and anybody with any business sense knows you have to sell at a price the market will bear, and two cokes is about the price of UM football right now.   I'd buy four cokes and take my family to a game finally.

It reminds me of basketball in the early Belien era.   Even though the team stunk the price was right, except there was still hope back then.

I bet is just a technicality that didn't get approved, such as the language to be used to describe the promotion. Perhaps it was supposed to say it was only for students or something. It seems pretty clear that some type of promotion was going to happen no matter what.

What's really sad is that the customers are willing to pay more for two cokes if the tickets are not included.

It is ironic that you get two tickets with the purchase of the cokes but then you can't take the cokes into the stadium.

What geniuses the UM AD has in it's offices. Think about it: perhaps the best way to synergize their marketing strategy in a dynamic outside the box kind of paradigm:

HOKE ZERO.

Think about it... you know? as in... the offense scores ZERO with Hoke, Hoke rhymes with Coke?! MARKETING!

Well I bet one person is loving this good ol Brady Hoke. He's prolly sitting at home on his computer from the 80's clapping away like "Well thanks for taking the heat off my ass for a day DB, you need to learn how to execute."

Funny B23 but we didn't have PCs in the 80s, not the early 80s anyway.  Or cellphones.

Space Invaders was available at the Union arcade, along with the other, now classic arcade games.  Any classes that required computer work, also involved a trip out of your dorm room to look for the nearest DECwriter.

It was, as it hopefully still is now, great to be on campus.

Those early 80s years at UM were the best time of life.

My best friend, Eric, had a TRS 80 for several years before that.

As an aside, I need to go look on Twiitter to see what our old friend Yost has to say about this.  He really needs to bring his site back from the dead.  Of course the AD is pretty funny on his own.

Roger Goddell and Sgt. Schultz have been advising DB. Skywriting, seat cushions, you name it, coke promotion, videos on TMZ?

I know nothing !! ... Now Brady go get me those tickets before Col. Hogan exposes me to the social media!

Have a 100K seat stadium you can't fill?  Better keep the student ticket prices as the highest in the nation at $295+tax for 7 terrible games.  I hope Brandon isn't a Ross product.

We can't market, we can't develop players, we can't coach, we can't win big games, we can't get the correct number of players on the field.....the athletic department and coaches seem to fumble or mishandle every situation. It seems like the team should run out to Benny Hill music rather than the Victors.

Embarrassing.  This has become a clown show.

At this point I don't care how involved Brandon personally was in this latest fiasco.  There have been far too many under his watch.  I'm done.
