UPDATES

All purchases made so far through this promotion, though, will be honored -- per Michigan RE: Coca Cola-gate.

In other news, my followers on Twitter (several post here) have held me to this: if he's hired, I will buy the same cheap ass pleated khakis that Harbaugh buys from Walmart (yeah, yeah) and wear them for every single game he coaches at Michigan, if he is hired. Even if it's 80-plus degrees.

David Brandon has done more to cheapen the Michigan Football brand than anyone could have dreamed.  This is just another in a long line of gimmics and it comes at the worst possile time considering where the team is.

It's time to clean house, we've become a laughing stock both on and off the field.  This is an absolute nightmare, I was concerned about our team before the season started (I didn't drink the koolaid), but I still though 8 or 9 wins was going to happen, now I'd take 7.  And Brandon is simply throwing gasoline on the fire with gimmics like this, and fireworks, and helicoptors carrying footballs...and...

This to me is lower than the 3-9 season with Rich Rod because at least then we could see a team with some hope for the future.  This team and this program give us little to hope for except to hope that maybe we can somehow become Bowl eligible.

Seriously, he should.  He would have great grassroots support.  We would need to work on diversifying his public works profile--most of the Regents have significant public service connections, even if the experience is largely honorary.

If the Call Sam guy can get elected, Brian can get elected.

With this genius running the athletic department, it reminded me of the football coaching search.  At the time, Brandon said other candidates made it "all about them" and that is part of the reason he chose to dramatically overpay for the Hokester, despite his unimpressive resume.

Have to wonder who else was actually looked at.  It would be interesting at this point to know who Brandon passed on because of their ego before he drove the plane into the mountain.

This has gotten more play in social media in the past 6 hrs than the App State loss and all other losses combined.

This is the type of crap that is going to be a retort to any comment about football for the next half decade.  "Oh yeah, can I get a Coke with that?"

What a shitshow.

Confession time:

I'm happy about the Coke thing.  I think it's a huge PR flub, which actually doesn't bother me at all and I think it appreciably increases the chances that we dump our assclown athletic director.  The people who will decide Brandon's fate are Schlissel and the Regents, and the Regents are politicians who, now more than ever, have an opportunity to score political points by severing ties with DB.  We saw in the aftermath of the fireworks thing that some of them were willing to take public shots, which I'm sure was because of some combination of genuinely disliking him and figuring that they'd grab a few votes through those public shots.  Well, there are many more reasons to dislike DB and many more political points to be scored at his expense right about now.  Fire his ass.

First off, if you're giving away tickets, it's not a deep secret that is only going to get outed by a user on this board.  I've had so many neg hits tonight I've stopped being afraid of getting them.  And I'm an old woman :)  so have at it.

OK, so, the CEO stuff.  For Brandon, CEO style means you get the best people in the best positions, pay them a lot of money and then expect the best results from them.  I'm not venturing into coach territory; just consider the marketing department.  So OK you're DB and you have this great marketing team, and someone decides to give away free tickets with the purchase of cheap soft drinks comprised of HFCS and the biggest contributor to the increasing diabetic burden nationwide.... and OMG it backfires?  The only thing you can do then is fire the person responsible.  Because you are not interested in developing people for the future you have hired the best and given them autonomy and they screwed up and made you look bad.  There's not this much PR attached to different pizza crust styles and sauce.

What worked at Domino's is not going to work here.

So someone gets their walking papers or whatever.

And if that fixes a problem, great.  What gets to be a bigger issue is what if the fails continue and stuff doesn't get fixed?  At some point then the guy at the top has to look at what he is doing wrong.

At some point there needs to be some sort of an organization for a demonstartion of sorts.  The administration building?  Pitchforks?  Signs?  Somebody needs to take the reigns on this.

I nominate WD.

Yes.  YES.  Brandon should step down.  I've e-mailed three Regents so far.  Keep up the heat.  They say state representatives will take note of issues with as few as 5-10 e-mails on the topic.  Think of what MGoBlog can do to the Regents and Athletic Department.

Voicemails shall be filled to capacity!
