oh hes great, rock solid dude.  tough to dislike anything about someone when they make those type comments.  

ill never forget some of the plays he made in the rose bowl - wheatley running through and past washington defenders is one of the first things that comes to mind when i think rose bowl.  

much deserved, 6 was a beast

Congratulations to Tyrone Wheatley!

I was reading the article, and of course:

Then it was off to the races for Wheatley, breezing down the middle of the field. Two safeties, the last defenders with a chance, had angles on him. But they didn't have Wheatley's speed and he blew through them as if they weren't there.

I think this was the "Wheatley......Wheatley explodes!.......They won't catch him!" call too, which happens to be one of the better calls in the Rose Bowl, and not just because of who it is, but how you had thie image of a broadcaster trying to find words sufficient to describe the beauty of the play.
