Ty Wheatley Jr is on campus

Submitted by JoeyFootball19 on

Ty Wheatley Jr is on campus. Just walked by Ty Wheatley Jr, Sr and Jay Harbaugh. Looked like they were showing him around. They all had huge smiles on their face. Jay was showing him the ropes. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. Go Blue!

This is useless without a pic of Coach in an ill fitting sweater with his arm around him and an awkward smile.

I just hope TW Sr. doesn't say something (in his role as recruiter) that makes TW Sr. (in his role as father) angry.  It could get ugly, one half of TW Sr. trying to push the other half of TW Sr. out of his own house.

i knew he would visit. the hard part is the father . he has to pick on his own. i am sure sr will back him on whatever he does. i coached a lot of sports when my kid was little. it is really hard on them. harbaugh know all this so he should have some advice. he will take mich.

Has Sam Webb backed off on this at all?  He's said his opinion - no gut feeling - is that he'll end up here, at least in the past.  Mom wants him to be close, and he and dad are very tight.

Ty Wheatley Sr is a coach.  He's a UM legacy, just ask the Washington Huskies. You are on campus.  What seems to be the problem here ?, Just commit damn it !

Come on Junior. We all can use great news !

Well that was kept on the down low. I'm wondering if it was kept secret because his dad is part of the staff, otherwise it would have been announced ahead of time. Hopefully this bodes well for us.

If Michigan does land him, it will be interesting to see which side of the ball he ends up on, especially if Pickard commits and Clark re-commits.

This is how the Weber visit is going to go. We won't know it's happening until he's on campus. Students keep your eyes open for Weber! Thanks in advance.

While I very much want Ty in the class ( I live near him and have watched many of his games) I don't think he wants to have to live up to his fathers name at UM. Hopefully I am very wrong. Reel him in pops!

What are Navy guys doing in dress uniform at the game? And whoever they are, they're high enough up to be somebody . . . there are fewer master chiefs than captains in the Navy . . . less than 1% of the enlisted Navy makes it that far.

(can't help but be curious, with my daughter in the Navy and currently underway.)

I taught Tyrone two hours a day for a year and wanted to share my observations. You learn a lot about a student being with them that much. I found that he was one of the most serious, respectful students I've ever taught. He respected his dad so much and it wasn't so much about pleasing him, but understanding and respecting what he was teaching. Tyrone Sr. was one of the most hands-on parents I've ever been around. I really doubt that Tyrone Jr. will go to another university where his dad and family won't be part of it. Family is huge to the Wheatleys and I really think he'll chose to be here at the U with them.

He is an important get. There's really no way to understate that. Why? Because he can play multiple positions. With this class being so small, it'd be good to get some athlete types like Wheatley and figure out in the fall where they are needed.
