Ty Isaac transferring from USC

Submitted by bdsisme on

IIRC, we were his leader for a bit.  Was a 5-star RB; do we take him if we don't get Damien Harris? (He played sparingly last year in his freshman campaign -- I'd imagine he would have to sit out a year unless he gets a waiver. 40 carries for a 5.9 YPC average and 2 touchdowns as a 3rd/4th string backup last year.)

#USC tailback Ty Isaac confirmed that he's been released from his scholarship and will to transfer closer to home. Story coming.

Sams gut is almost never wrong and I mean never. I know he didn't say his gut told him he was coming to Michigan but his gut did tell him that Michigan is a option. There is truth in Sams gut and maybe a couple beers by now.

why would he want to come here? it's certainly not to run behind the dumpster fire of our o-line and the staff's proven ability to squander talent doesn't make me hopeful we'll see ty in a winged helmet.

Please list for us the talent that the current staff has "squandered" and exactly how they've "squandered" it.

If you do make your case, at least we have something to argue about. If you don't, then you deserve the abuse you'll get.

Say you join a club or community organization of any sort that has been around for a while, with members who've been there a long time, and on the day of your joining you openly, publicly, and loudly trash one of the members, or one of the initiatives or causes they support.

What do you think the response will be to your comments, especially if you don't back them up immediately? You can assert your right to voice your opinion all day long regardless of when you joined, but if you think you'll get an automatically sympathetic hearing, you have no understanding of human nature or organizational dynamics.

I'll bite. You said this staff has a proven ability to squander talent. I take issue with that. What talent have they squandered? They just had three guys drafted who, as recruits, were not ranked where you would expect a player to be drafted. Our top seniors on defense this fall will be 3-stars who were recruited by nobody else (Ryan, Clark, Taylor and Morgan). Most of the "talent" on our team (and I'm defining that as players other top tier schools wanted) are young, so you can't say they have been squandered. But I'm interested to hear who you think that is.

This is not a shocker at ALL.

Whatever though, I'll take for SURE. I won't be the spurned girl from the beginning...this isn't high school dating.

Come to Michigan.

Do we have an idea of when he will chose his next school? Or did I miss that somewhere?

Ann Arbor is not that far away.  I'd love to see him in the Maize and Blue.  Glad he can be closer to his family.

He came to Michigan after redshirtting at GT I believe. Hell, I dunno, you would've figured Rich Rod would've tried to bring a ton of guys in just to implement his system, but whatever. Hopefully we get this kid because we need 2 RBs in this class, and I don't think we'll get more than one.

This is why you dont always chase that smokin' blonde (USC) to try and take home that you know is just going to cause you grief.  Sometimes it's ok to go after the brunette or redhead who absolutely adores you and call it a night.

(BTW this is a general statement, sometimes I just don't understand the decisions kids make and within a year or two end up transferring which further hurts their chances at making the League)
