Per Sam Webb Ty Issac just hit campus about an hour ago. Although most paywall sites state he will visit USC later this month but can the coaches pull it off today? We have one commit today could Issac be number two? I think we're match made in football heaven. What does the board think?
Ty Isaac on campus
I'm going to trust ROLL DAMN TIDE and SHANE MORRIS and the COACHES and say YES!!!
What did Shane say about this?
Our helmets have wings and our recruits come in pairs.
Ty commits today. Never underestimate the recruiting prowess of Brady Hoke.. thats this year's take home lesson.
thought you stopped following recruiting bro
After today, either Sinsemillaplease or aaamichfan will be able to say:
Recruits on campus are like Schroedinger's Cat. At any time, they can be thought of as both committed AND not committed. So, in a way, both guys are right, and both are wrong.
is going to to look and collapse the probability wave to 'commit'?
Hell yes! Come on Ty, we need you my man, you'll have a phenomenal O-Line that will be deep as hell and you would look awesome in a winged helmet! Just sayin'
I Hoke so!
This was from the 5th of March:
"Also, not that there was ever much ground for it, but I talked to Ty Isaac who said he's not committing anywhere anytime soon."
So, I don't know if that's changed (although, it would be a nice change, of course). If not, then I would expect a post-visit reaction article later from Tremendous certainly, but perhaps not a commitment. Of course, as fast as the Hoke train is going and as successful as it seems to be at most stops, who really knows anymore?
What offensive line recruits are on campus as well? If the coaches can show him who he will be running behind in person he may be more apt to pull the trigger. The second option is for Hoke to point at him giving him no other choice but to commit.
this weekend, according to his twitter.
It'd be great to get him in the class, but it is still only March. Even if he doesn't commit this weekend, there is still a ton of time for him to join team #134.
Sounds like Bosch and a few other commits will be there as well, hopefully they get in his ear a little
Sparty goes on and on about this being the Hoke/Mattison style but that's mainly rationalization.
Sparty gonna Spart...and all.
Is that the same sparty that has a few 3 star goes at the moment?
I'd love him to sign, but with Shallman already on board and Norfleet I'm okay if he pulls a Diamond.
Top RB in the class and best we would land in years and you'd be okay letting him go elsewhere? Hope that was all /s
I'd personally be surprised if he committed this weekend. When I talked to him on Wednesday, he didn't sound like someone who was ready to end the process yet. That being said, a full weekend in Ann Arbor is a huge deal. You know Shane and co. will be putting on the full court press and these kids change their timetables at the drop of a dime all of the time.
please, please stop.
Anyone recognize the gentleman on the left?
The WR commit
Gracias, he arrived the same time in AA as Ty Isaac. per Twitter.
he doesn't let Hoke see him wearing that hat.
Tyler the Creator
Never thought I'd see that name on this site
Ha. I'm down with what all hipster hop kids are listening to these days.
Considering he's going to have wooly mammoths creating running lanes for him if he comes here, I'd say we have a pretty good shot. I doubt he'll commit this week, though. I see him as the kid who will wait until the Army All-American game to make a decision.
Don't know why, but just a hunch.
Isn't Smith visiting next weekend? If the staff is only taking two backs that could be the little nudge needed to get Ty to join the Maize and Blue Express.
He would probably be on the list of "elite prospect" that the staff will save a spot for
Any clue who may fall on that list?
Based on Aquamans comment, I think I'd rather have Ty wait it out. If he commits now, I could totally see him re-opening his recruiting down the line. Not because i think anything negative of him, but I just know that if he commits the other programs will probably come at him even harder knowing he was just caught up in the rapture of commitapalooza. This is one guy that I'd rather have take his time and truly feel good that Michigan is for him
Reopen his recruitment? This is as speculative as the guy choosing to commit today or whenever.
If a guy commits now it is to Michigan and if he re-opens as we have learned then he is not.
It's not a commitapalooza. Guys commit because they like the staff, the facilities, the program and this is Michigan.
Maybe three years in the wildnerness made you forget that.
Work your magic Sugar Shane!
600th point should go to Ty. Hope he pulls the trigger this weekend, but if not I am pretty confident we get him at some point in the near future. He is just a match mad ein heaven with Michigan 3 yards and a cloud of dust.
You can only save so many spots for the "elites". There are still positions that need to be addressed. I'm hoping it happens this weekend because if not Smith is likely to commit next weekend. That might call an end to our recruitment of Isaac. For good reason the staff puts a strong emphasis on the desire to be a Michigan man.
gonna turn Ty away not a chance. He is the number 1 RB recruit we want, and have on our boards.
no way we would ever turn down a potential heisman candidate. we would find room for him no matter what.
Captain Speculation at it again.
Obviously, it would be great to get a commit from Ty today, but I'll be real pleased if we do indeed get Conley and Hawkins. I think Ty + Michigan is a perfect match, and I'm ready for him to commit when he sees that.
Didn't know Smith was coming next weekend...that might just give Ty a little nudge.
I DOUBT IF HAWKINS COMMITT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO COMMITT AND STILL TAKE VISITS,.
YOU IS GOOD ENGLISH VERY GOOD
WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT US!?
WHY U HAZ ALL OF THE CAPITOL LETTERS!?
HIT HIM HEAD ON HIM TABLE?
I know Ty said he wanted to wait to commit, but with the way this class has shaped out and the Juggernaut that is the 2013 class's offense, he may have no other choice than to hop on the bandwagon which is starting to look something like this.
Ty's dad was a bit actor on a hit 70's TV show?
Huggy Bear ain't no "bit" actor. That is offensive
You think Brent Musberger has heard of Isaac Hayes?
Edit: Some people have a unique definition of trolling.
When Hoke points, people listen.
Rumor is that Isaacs will be at Yost with Morris.
He will. Hopefully Sugar Shane can close the deal. Its great to have such a great leader for this recruiting class.
Come on Isaac! I need some good news after the letdown from the basketball game. I really really hope he commits today.
Isaac is at Yost with Hoke.
Nice. Lets hope we can close the deal this week.
why this kid is not in the top 5 overall for every recruiting service. Has anyone seen his film. Absolute beast!
Is there any chance a player with his athleticism can move out to Slot? It would be a solution to the lack of athleticism we have out there next year. It would also be something that Alabama wouldnt see coming.
It would be nice to see Hayes make an impact in one way or another this year. As for Isaac it would be nice to see more then one come on board after all that has been made about this weekend!
I wanna throw you all in my DeLorean and gun it to 88
Eit: I'm drunk, and this was meant for the discussion thread. But it still holds true for everyone in this thread topic.
I hope he enjoyed the Notre Dame hockey game. I know I did.
This kid could really flourish under coach Jackson and this mammoth o line he will run behind. Mix that running attack with Sugar Shane and a few electric wideouts....lights out.
He's not in the top 5 because there are questions about his ability to break tackles running so upright. Athletically he's a phenom but he needs to get behind his pads or he will be hit hard on the next level.
As for those convinced we would never turn him away full at his position or not, no matter what. It's not that black and white, we stopped recruiting our number 1 WR and our number 1 CB prospects last year over different issues. I'm not saying this kid has some character flaw but Hoke is getting to know this kid as much as he's selling Michigan to him. Hoke could see something that doesn't mesh with team 134. There are no absolutes in recruiting.
He is the #1 RB in the nation according to Scout
style remind me of Eddie George, I just hope that he doesn't spend the first two seasons fumbling like George did (unless he goes elsewhere, then I could care less if he is a fumbler).
The kid is 6'2" 220, he will learn how to run and protect himself while doing it.
You can not deny how stout our O-line is. It's hard for any 4 or 5 star RB not to be behind those guys. If Ron Dayne can do it at Wisky and win the Heisman, why not here!
I still think Ty could be one of the top 2 or 3 WR's in the country if he or the coaches decided to change positions. I'd love to grab him and Deveon Smith and work them both in all around the field. Sprinkle in a little Hayes/Norfleet in the slot, a dash of Shallman to change the pace, and top it off with Darboh/Chesson/Treadwell. Add in some Funchess or Butt to taste (knock off the giggling) and this offense will be absolutely unreal. I bet Shane would have a huge grin on his face for four straight years if we could pull this off, Lord knows I would.
don't rule out the Trojans. Nobody has a better RB tradition than USC; five Trojan tailbacks have won Heismans (including Bush, who isn't on the official list anymore). With Hoke we've got a great shot, but it's no slam dunk.
