TWO players to wear the #1 jersey?
So remember that vine Elysee Mbem-Bosse posted of the lockers awhile back?
It had some lockers with sticky noted numbers, and ones with permanent plaques depicting the freshmen jersey numbers?
Kekoa Crawford has a permanent #1 on his locker, Rashan Gary had a permanent #3. At the time, Nick Eubanks had a temporary #1 sticky note on his locker. The rumor was Harbaugh was having the freshmen compete for their number of choice.
Well, a post on his Instagram now shows he has a permanent #1 on his locker.
Also, Crawford lists that he wears the #1 in all of his social media bios, so that hasn't changed.
It's because his name is Nick Eubanks.

Now, now, the Python fans should know well that it is entirely possible for your name to be spelled Raymond Luxury-Yacht but pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove. Actually, it's more common than one might realize, I would imagine. You'll simply be refused a startling amount of interviews, that's all.
A man has a right to change his name to whatever he wants to change it to. And if a man wants to be called Kekoa Crawford, godamnit, this is a free country, you should respect his wishes and call the man Kekoa Crawford.

The jersey number certainly won't stay the same
I'm pretty sure that some players share the same number. it's cause harbaugh promises it to them in recruiting. Then they get to fight it out in camp, with the best player keeping the number.
That was the rumor actually. But see, LaVert Hill had a sticky note #2 on his locker and it's been recently known that he will wear #24 instead.

THAT SAID. Hoke is crucified if he did this. Me personally, I couldn't care less, it's a number...I'm more concerned about the name on the back being a legend, not the number. I'll remember Peppers way more than the #5 when it's all said and done.
Yes, and no. For instance I will always think of Charles Woodson every time I see a Michigan #2 jersey, and of Desmond Howard when I see a #21 jersey. Lets hope that Peppers imortalizes the #5 jersey as well.

Gary wore number 3 in high school, though. And Crawford lists #1 on his twitter where players typically list their jersey numbers.
