WOW! Tee Shepard gone? Wasn't he the gem of that class?
He was definitely up there in their 2012 class. That is going to hurt them pretty badly. All I can do is laugh.
No, the REAL gem of the class is Deontay Greenberry!
Wait a minute...
Ronald Darby!
Wait a minute.......
You guys are mean...but funny.

No, No. It was Taylor Decker.
...whoops.
We have a problem...
Got a good laugh out of this. ND, whose CBs' greatest weakness is defending the armpunt, picks up two stud CBs in its recruiting class and loses both before the start of spring practice. Couldn't dream this one up any better.
They only have four scholarship CBs on the roster. It could get very ugly.
Honestly, I have trouble figuring out how Brian Kelly gets kids to committ in the first place, let alone stay on once they arrive. The guy is a class A jerk who gets off on making fools of 18-20 year olds on national TV. Hopefully this trend continues for ND.
On an aside...I remember when BK first got hired many people were fearful of what he could do with the talent ND is capable of bringng in and combining it with his spread offense. It is very similar to what we all thought with RR and what OSU is singing about Meyer. I hope the OSU thing works out about as well as our experiment did (no offense to RR as I was one of his biggest supporters, but it clearly didn't work).
Kelly got everyone he needed at GVSU, CMU, and Cincy. I am guessing that, in the living rooms of recruits, Kelly comes off a lot better than his viral, "worst of" videos and pics make him appear.
I have to wonder if he relates better to kids who can't get into ND than those who can. It would explain a lot.
One of my ND friends who hates Kelly said, "UM cant get them all, and BK and Meyer will get some guys." I thought it was a sarcastic remark until now.
is that GVSU and CMU recruits, and even Cincinnati recruits, probably weren't watching those teams every Saturday when better games were on elsewhere, and highlights weren't prominently placed on Sportcenter.
Now his game day rants are playing on the televisions of the living rooms of recruits. He's got a lot more of himself to overcome when he visits.
I went to GV and when he was the coach there he didn't really have a reason to have his face turn purple. They were extremely dominate and all of the top recruits without major D1 offers went there. When Lloyd Carr was retiring, I was actually really hoping we would hire Kelly. I sure am glad that we didn't now.
recruits.
Yes. but you had already mentioned Tim Tebow so he wasn't going to reiterate it.
As much as I hope Meyer fails, the comparisons to Rich Rod are way off base. Rich Rod achieved a decent amount of success in the Big East. Meyer was wildly successful in the SEC. The similarities between the two are superficial at best.
But BK = RR seems pretty accurate.
One has trouble managing a staff.
The other can't manage himself.
man a couple years ago who had some buds who played for Kelly at Grand Valley and it was pretty consistent among the players that they thought Kelly was a total asshole and could not put a sentence together without using the "F" word.
Looks like the collar is getting a little tight in SB-what a clusterfk.

successfully recruited for decades while openly acting like the world's biggest ass. Some people mistake that behavior for just being intense or "demanding" and think the coach will get the best out of their kids that way. Personally I wouldn't want my kids playing for someone like that, but obviously a lot of people have no problem with it.
Tom Zbikowski boxes.
I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this in the last week. The Bears need safety help, Zbikowski played at ND, the Chicago people cannot stop yabbering on. Did you know during the lockout he boxed?!?!
I hate ND...
Homesick.
and that Tee'd him off.
(sorry)
Did we ever offer him? It'd be nice to see Terry Richardson get some company at the corner position.
Not a single Big Ten offer on his sheet... he's a California boy with offers almost exclusively from west of the Mississippi, with the exception of ND, Auburn, Alabama, Miami.
Edit: vv Magnus would know better than I. I was just basing my answer on information available on all the major recruiting websites (rivals/scout/espn/247), none of which list Michigan as an interest or an offer. Apparently those sites are incomplete(?).
Yes, we offered Shepard.
They Lost Ronald Darby & Tee Shepard, so much for their sick secondary recruiting class.

To Hell with Notre Dame.
When are Shumate, Day, and Kiel transferring?
Easter morning.
Wow. How often do you see an early enrollee split before spring practice even starts? It does make you wonder what happened. The other three DBs in that class for ND are all listed as safeties. Hope Denard is working on his deep pass.
Let this be a lesson to you, James Onwualu and Steve Elmer. Somethings a-foot at Notre Dame.
Sam Webb said on the radio today that UM cancelled the Onwuala visit. So if he reconsiders, he should go see Jerry Kill.
Interesting, we must feel pretty good about another WR who maybe ready to commit.
Maybe we do not have any feelings at all but are just setting our sights on better prospects.
That's my guess. The kid looked good, but nothing special.
our shared appreciation of Ted Theodre Logan.
Strange things are afoot at the circle-k!
The Tee Shepard thing illustrates why I don't like the EE option for long distance recruits. It's much easier to get homesick when it's winter (especially in IN/MI for warmer weather recruits) and you've only got a few guys in your class to lean on and share the OMG COLLEGE exuberance with.
