Two more Crean cuts
Hanner Mosquera-Perea & Devin Davis have been dismissed from Indiana basketball, for "failing to live up to program reaponsibilities". For all we know, they could have done something serious, but on the surface it looks absolutely disgraceful for Creen.
They call him Katy Perry cause he does nothing but cut Top 100's.
^^^ this guy
How many guys have been dismissed?
I think this is 5 now.
I could understand 2 or maybe 3, but 5 is ridiculous.
Isn't Mosque-Perrera like the tallest/most athletic player they got?
And I thought Michigan had issues up front lol.
I believe so, but there are high expectations for the 5 star center coming in this year.
Crean gonna Crean.
They got caught with weed and I'm pretty sure both of them have already had problems with the law
Wasn't the Davis kid the one that got hit by his teammate's car after they were out drinking? Missed the season because of it if I remember correctly. That was a weird story...
Yep. He jumped in front of the car when he was drunk.
is such a Joe Kane thing to do.
A college kid smoking weed? I'm outraged!
after partying all night in a South Bend night club. He was caught on tape doing it at a local Exxon station.
I don't like Crean any more than the next guy but is it possible he did the right thing kicking guys off the team?
Don't know any of the details but we can't have it both ways
But lets not forget who is bringing these kids to IU in the first place.
Were they dismissed or just suspended? It was a citation for marijuana for Davis and the other guy was just with him. I just thought they had been suspended indefinitely.
Davis was arrested for weed and Perea was in the room with him where they were smoking. Perea had a previous DUI. This isn't "Creaning" really. In particular they kinda needed Perea, their only big man is the incoming (albeit highly regarded) freshman now.
I heard Bob Knight is looking for work.
Crean is a disgrace to the conference.
The annual purge is here!
I'll hold off on bashing Crean right now. For all we know, those guys did something truly horrible and Crean made the right move.

I'm still going to bash Crean because he brought them to Bloomington. He doesn't get to look like a good guy for kicking people off the team that he brought on
So these kids had issues before Crean recruited them? You know this?
If anything, it would be even worse if all these kids were squeaky clean coming in and developed their "issues" while playing in Crean's program.
Even if he has done the right thing so far with every player he has kicked off of his team, the fact that so many players are developing problems under his "tutilege" is a huge red flag, as if one was really needed.
"because he brought them to Bloomington."
His point implied that these kids were already questionable before going to Indiana.
brought Frank Clark to Ann Arbor. Is Brady Hoke a terrible guy? I'm far less than a fan of Crean, but nobody can predict the future.
I think they've also had a transfer or two - Max Hoetzel transferred to SDSU, for example. I saw that story earlier this week. CBS Sports explains how the complaint came about:
Campus police responded to a call Monday night complaining about an odor of marijuana coming from an open second-floor window of a dormitory. According to the Indianapolis Star, police found a small bag of marijuana in a backpack that belongs to Davis. IU teammate Hanner Mosquera-Perea was in the room with Davis but was not cited like Davis.
I've got to be honest, whoever it was that reported the odor of marijuana coming from a dorm room needs to be punched in the balls or stomach. When they ask why, they should simply be told "You know why!".

Complaining about the odor of marijuana? Who are these people
Weakest justification for blooming a player ever

but it was Jeff Meyer who ruined that program.
Does anyone want to play for Indiana anymore? I mean, if I was a recruit looking at all these players getting essentially kicked off, I wouldn't want to play for an ass like that.
Didn't they just get a 5 star recruit?
As much as I love Crean bashing, I doubt this was "Spring Creaning."
I'm pretty sure as of now they are two players under the scholarship limit, so they were at it before, and there are no new players waiting to take these spots.
More importantly, Mosquera-Perea was their only contributing big last year. Literally, he was their only player above 6'7" or above to play.
Davis was a redhsirt freshman who missed last year due to injuries from a car accident but averaged about 10 minutes a game his true freshman season.
Neither of these were dirty moves by Crean.
No. It isn't dirty only when guys leave/get kicked off Michigan teams. For everyone else, it's the coach being a scumbag.
Crean cuts players and sucks. It's embarassing
... Calipari has to restock every year because he loses highly rated players to the NBA. Crean has to restock because he can't coach and has the audacity to think it's the players' faults.
They should really rename Assembly Hall "Dismissal Hall." Tom Crean's ABC is Always Be Cutting.
I don't object to this at all. What would trouble me deeply would be Crean running some camps outside of Indiana.
That wouldn't be so bad...but if he promoted said camps on social media, well, THEN that would be absurd and unjust.
Tom & Mr. Spot are trying to (keep a) clean house.
How is IU's APR still at an acceptable number?

I remember Creen once being talked about as an Izzo disciple who could take over for him; I don't like MSU much, but I can't imagine they'd put up with this behavior from a HC. Surprised IU does, especially since he hasn't fielded a particularly great team save for that one Elite 8 squad.
Indiana has been to the Elite Eight once since 1993, and that was in 2002 when they made the NC game. They've only made the tournament three times under Crean and made it to the sweet sixteen twice in 12 and 13.
This is becoming comical. I cant believe kids still fall for his bullshit.
This is Harbaugh's brother in law....are we allowed to talk about him negatively?
Coach Harbaugh would use the Spring Creaning line on him.
