Boy do I hope the secondary is more than serviceable.

12-0. Book it. Best secondary in the B10. I'm sure as heck not gonna argue with Lewan, are you?

...Lewan is too massive to fit into the camera's frame.

Parkinson's is no laughing matter. In addition to tremors, it causes needless zooming.

that boy has to shave about once a year. What a babyface. Adorable.
And if any of you tell him I said that and he breaks my spine, I will be very sad.

Rogers is a good fit at corner? He is really, really tall for a corner and already pretty fast. Let's face it, our secondary wasn't amazing last year. They really don't have to be supermen to show some improvement. I have two different thoughts about improving our secondary this year.
1st - play a ton of cover 2/3/4 and use soft zones. This way the corners can easily cover a small area and come up to help with run support. This will cut down on teaching players about when/if to switch your man, how to know when to leverage a guy's position on the inside or the outside, reading alignment for route combinations, etc.. You can really simplify things.
2nd (completely opposite) Blitz all day. What if we resign ourselves to the fact that they will get beat from time to time and just pin our ears back? Send multiple guys on every down from different spots to confuse the other team. This is one advantage of the 3-3-5, there are a ton of places you can attack from and still have a good shell to stop long plays. Pressure creates turnovers, and that's something we haven't seen much for the past 2 years.
Which do you think is better - or are they both crappy ideas?

door # 2...
We give up big plays anyways.. why not give the QB less time to find a wide open receiver and maybe make a mistake..
Door #1 just seems like it's the prevent defense... I do love the idea of simplifying things... but we'd die a slow death it seems.

Blitz Blitz Blitz till the opposing QB is a twitching pile of frayed nerves. Playing to not give up the big play is tantamount to playing to not lose. When you play to not lose, you lose.
