Per Twitter Mike Weber Update

Submitted by JoeyFootball19 on

Per Twitter Mike Weber Update. Teddy Blanks a good Michigan insider tweeted that a meeting with Harbaugh was cancelled lastnight but will reschedule it this week (Good News).

Also Mike Weber tweeted a hour ago " Too young to be stressing like this". Obviously as a young man it must be a very stressful decision to make. Michigan is a serious player still. Most of us on here think hes long gone, not so fast. Let the rumors fly with about a week to go here. It will be a fun ride thats for sure. Go Blue!

Wanted to update for all my non twitter friends.

Wasn't Teddy Blanks the guy that kept insinuating he had an in with David Dunn, was dropping stupid shit like "Charles Woodson sent an M themed fruit basket to Dave's office" on twitter, and then it came out that Dunn was totally unaffiliated with Harbaugh's interactions with Michigan?

His twitter account is MaizeandBlue14. He broke some really good news about Jimmy before the likes of Sam, Tom and Crew. He apparently got in trouble from his source. Its a good follow on twitter. Whats the easiest way to tweet links from Twitter? Thanks for the help. Go Blue!

It's pretty simple if you're looking to just embed tweets. Under the tweet you wish to post there should be an ellipsis, which is actually a drop-down menu. Select it, select "Embed Tweet" and then copy the code that appears. After that, come back here and switch your reply box to "plain text mode", then paste the code into the box and add whatever additional information / title you want and then hit "Save".

Maybe he has stressful things going on in his life that don't have to do with football. Either way, analyzing tweets of a high school kid is creepy and weird.

I appreciate that we all assume that Weber's stress is deciding between Michigan and OSU, but remember that he is a high school kid.  All this stress he is talking about could be what shoes to wear in the morning.  We'd be wise to keep some perspective.

And doesn't riding out of state to a school-sanctioned rally with the parents of a current player sound like a recruiting violation or something?

Has he ever admitted to being a fan of either school?  If he isn't a lifelong fan, then switching schools is about opportunity and program.  When he switched to OSU they had Meyer and we had... nobody.  Since then, we've hired JH, but they won a national title.  Doesn't surprise me that he's sticking with OSU.  They're at the top, and there is no guarantee that we'll get there, at least until the team takes the field and starts winning again.

After looking at OSU's depth chart at running back, combined with the other highly-rated back they just signed...

I guess if I could be a sole member of a recruiting class where the first guy ahead of me is already a sophomore, i'd be looking for a pen. Especially if it was the school I'd always wanted to attend.

Best of luck to the young man whatever he decides.

when you put it like that its really sad that we somehow find ourselves on the outside looking in at the moment.   That said its not over yet, thats clear, notwithstanding who Teddy Blanks may or may not be.

I feel bad for him. Kid wants to make the best decision for his future, but there have to be a ton of crazy fans giving him hell no matter what he does. I mean I know normal kids stress over which college to go to, but this is a whole new level.

Best of luck to Mike Weber, and I'm glad he is learning valuable lessons he can apply to the rest of his life.

Almost all meaningful decisions in life have up sides and down sides.

Here's to hoping he decides to be a part of the beginning of a Michigan dynasty, and home town hero!

I don't believe Teddy Blanks is a reliable insider. He is a Michigan fan who coincidentally happened to have a family member who was long time friends with Harbaugh's former agent. I'm not even sure if this agent was very involved in the negotiations anyway since he had a personal interest in Harbaugh sticking with the NFL. He also made some very dubious claims about Harbaugh going on some sort of "soul searching" vision quest sometime around Christmas, which later proved to be false. why he would have insider info about Weber's recruitment?

If there's one thing that bears repeating a thousand times a day, it's: if you're a fan and over 21 DON'T follow recruits OR players. And PLEASE DON'T EVER tweet at or message them. Leave them alone. Nothing good can come of it. My rule of thumb is to follow once their collegiate career is over...but that's just me.

Everything I've read the past couple days regarding Weber is that he likely DOES want to talk to Harbaugh and maybe some other staff members but he wants to do it very quietly without any twitter hoo-hah, b/c if he sticks with OSU he doesn't want the backlash.  If he picks U of M, he'll get a ton of shit, once, but then it won't matter.  He doesn't want to get trashed for meeting with U of M (by OSU fans) then have to go back to OSU.  Respect his wishes and hopefully he can have a Hackett-like level of security when meeting with us again, and if he does, I think he'll change his mind.

Although I think he stays with OSU, if he was really 100% sold on going there, he would've said that by now, and he wouldn't be "stressed."

As long as he makes the best choice for himself....

I see we're in that part of the year where we're putting way too much thought into tweets from potential recruits. He could be talking about anything.

Tweet from Long Beach Press Telegram stating that USC may not be a heavy favorite after all for Iman Marshall. I believe Harbaugh had his in-home visit today.

@PTGazetteSports: “@InsideSoCalSpts: Iman Marshall Update http://t.co/aBUyRgI9lb #USC” Would not refer to USC as the "heavy favorite"...
