The Texas stuff continues to be classic. This made me have to get out of a staff meeting so I could laugh:

"I want to apologize to all Texas fans in advance," said a visibly-shaken Brown. "66-17 is unacceptable. I'm as disappointed as anybody about how the team will play against Oklahoma on October 12. But you can't look back at next month's loss and torture yourself with ‘What ifs?' You have to move on."

I like that time and space and conventional notions thereof no longer have meaning in Austin.

That was a clusterfuck. A total clusterf---. The word 'clusterf---' was invented for clusterf---s like that.

One of the clusterfucks isn't f---?

Eh. Embarrassing, over-blown meltdowns is something that binds all sports fans, and especially college football fans. I think there's a perverse sense of pride in making TWIS, in a totally harmless way. I mean, the fake press conference with Mack Brown was hilarious and knowing. And Michigan's entries are pretty tame.

I'm not saying he "is" or he "isn't", but if this was Salem a couple hundred years ago, I think we'd need to worry more about him being burned at the stake than declaring for the draft.

Just my 2 cents.

I think this is one of the better quotes I've ever heard.

The first time I read this, I read "than" as "then." As if their concern would be that Manziel would be burned at the stake, survive (presumably because he's some kind of super-witch), and go on to leave A&M for the NFL afterwards.

..."The staff needs to spend more time coaching & less time shopping at Tim Hortons."

That's my blog and I have no idea what he's talking about.

Tim Hortons provided the doughnuts before the game.

It's only fair that Michigan makes it after Brian includes MSU fans in TWIS two weeks in a row after wins. Some might call it karma. I might agree. At least Michigan won, which is pretty much the only consolation for having to sit through that game.
