so funny.  I have watched it like 20 times today and it gets funnier every time.  It is not that I am catching anything new from more viewings, it is just a mesmorizing kind of funny that I can't take my eyes off.  For every reason, maybe the best 2 seconds of footage every caught on tape.  Even the women clapping behind the guy who falls, she is just clapping to clap and wondering what the hell just happened and how exactly she got to where she is.  Hilarious.

I'm bringing my two 14yr old boys to the Air Force game this week. This will be there first time in Ann Arbor, and we are driving from western PA early Sat. What's a good local place to eat prior to the game and/or after. Also, what would be somethings or places we should go or see to impress them.....one is a USC fan, and one a Texas fan, hopefully they will have a great weekend and see the light!

Depending on whether you have a car, it is necessary to recommend Zingerman's for someone looking for food spots in Ann Arbor.  Not directly on campus, but not too far either.  Would be a great post-game meal and I'm an advocate of getting anyone new in AA to that deli.  Best sandwiches I've had.

If you're talking about on-campus, although every place will be crowded I'd go with Ashleys, Mr. Spots, or NYPD.  There aren't many good sit-down restaurants on campus but if you were to choose one I'd say the original cottage inn on E. William Street.  Pizza house is overrated unless you're ordering cheesy bread.

I'm awesome.  Get over it

Zingerman's is good, especally for breakfast (as is Angelo's, of course), but it ain't cheap.

For on-campus food in a good setting for 14 yr olds (not sure if you're ok with taking them to a pub like Ashley's), I'd go Cottage Inn or Pizza House.

I'm also obligated to suggest Seoul Street up near north campus, as it is a Korean joint (with awesome Korean fried chicken) owned by Michigan alums.

That said, I'd recommend hitting up Main St (between Huron and E Williams). There's a solid stretch of good places to eat. Arbor Brewing Co is another underrated place that is seldom busy since they're a little off the beaten path but still right off Main.

I like Pizza Bob's on State street just north of Packard. Sandwiches are very good and very filling and the milkshakes are the BEST. Personal preference but I go there every time i'm there. As to impressing, the Law quad by the union on State and South University is pretty sweet to see, classic old building. I guess in that area for young kids spinning the cube north of the Union is always cool, it's huge and heavy. Seeing Michigan Stadium might be the highlight of the weekend honestly.  The wilpon baseball/softball complex is pretty cool

I guess it ultimately depends on what they find interesting. At 14 finding that wow factor in a college town is tough. Assuming you are not in a hurry post-game if you stand at the tunnel on the east side of the stadium that's where the players exit the locker room and most sign autographs or just people watch as they leave.

And Pizza House or Original Cottage Inn are the best of those IMHO.  You could also try Zingerman's Roadhouse (if you don't mind spending a bundle) or Deli.  Both excellent.

If you want to grab drinks or general pub fair I'd go with Ashley's honestly.  Though the service is usually pretty poor the beer selection is MASSIVE and the Stilton Fries are incredible.  Red Hawk Grill is also along State Street near Williams, is a bit more up-scale in atmosphere and has better food (overall) and service, but a limited beer selection.

On the cheaper side of things you could go with Blimpy Burger (super busy on game day tho) or The Fleetwood Diner.  I doubt either would impress with their facilities but the food is great and their atmospheres are both unique.

ALL of these places will be unbarably packed after the game...

Plenty of quality places along mainstreet too, though they'll all be busy and expensive.  Of those I might recommend Palio though it's not really a "Ann Arbor staple" the way some of these others are.

If you're looking to impress Pizza House and Zingerman's probably give you the best chance.

*NOTE:  I've never been to Zingerman's anything on a weekend, let alone a gameday.  Ashley's and Red Hawk both allow those under 21 in before 10pm for dining and will check IDs at the tables for anyone who orders booze.

Agreed, the in depth message board posts are the best.  I'm kinda surprised our fearless leader let us off easy by not pulling from the board here and simply showing his own tweets from during the game, there was some great 'freude here on the board for others to enjoy.  I guess he didn't want TWIS to be all U of M stuff.

I'm just glad TWIS is back yet again this year, it is awesome, as always.

It's too bad Bryan Curtis' article on Grantland wasn't posted in time for this week's TWIS. In the headline "Is Michigan Too Smart for College Football?", Curtis perfectly captures the sense of rationalizing condescension and ever-so-subtle self-doubt that typifies the reaction of Michigan Men to yet another humiliating loss to a football factory (and the Michigan Man persona in general).

I would like to thank Brian for using my Bruce Jenner pickle line. Totally true. Happened at TopNotch Beef Burgers in Chicago. The pickle was slightly more human-looking than the man, but otherwise, a very close facsimile.

The Bruce Jenner pickle comment totally made TWIS.   Question, though:  was the pickle in the image of Bruce Jenner circa 1976 in all his athletic glory or a facsimile of modern-day trainwreck Bruce?

Season 3 had a few good episodes, but by and large....yeah. That's what happens when the network tries to kill your show. Their per-episode budget was lower in season 3 than it was even in the first two.
