have you been to colorado? yes, yes it is. What are you going to tell an elite recruit on a visit. Come here and you can ski 300 days a year. The women don't look sooo bad when you have all the coors you can drink..

Then how can Colorado State and Air Force, which are located nearby, field halfway decent teams? Not to mention the neighboring state of Utah, which has half the population of Colorado but has three respectable programs (Utah, BYU, USU).
Colorado won a national title in 1990. They won a Heisman in 1994. It's not like they have zero history. They shouldn't be on the Indiana level.
Coaching. I personally cannot remember the last time Colorado was any good. But when it comes down to it, it is all about coaching.

Speaking of Colorado's terrible coaching, isn't Colorado's athletic department also in the hole, financially? I seem to remember them lacking the funds to pay for Hawkins' buy-out, let alone picking up a top-notch guy after ousting Hawkins.
It has been (AD in financial trouble), and that's been a big part of the problem, although they are finally just about through the buyout of Hawkins + the buyout of the Big XII, and will be getting Pac12 revenues so that should be on its way out. The real problems now are godawful coaching, and a university community that has no real interest in having a good football team. If somehow the academic side can be made to see how valuable a successful football program can be to the school as a whole, there is hope, but until then (as it has been for the last 7-8 years), it's going to continue to be rough.
they do sorta. Kids who prolly wouldn't get into the academy on academics alone get "recruited" to play
Have you been to Boulder? It's a beautiful city and a great college town with plenty of going on.
Yes I have and it wasn't to bad but if you compare it to AA cbus Clemson Gainesville Austin Norman or LA.. It would be like compairing burger king to a steakhouse. Just ask yuri wright how much he liked his visit lol
Touchdown Manningham! MICHIGAN WINS!
As someone that spent a summer in Boulder on an internship, you have no idea what you are talking about and need to stop now. And I say that even though I missed ski season.
Sorry, Philbert, but you lost your argument when you named "Columbus" favorably as a comparable community.
I will apologize for my comments. I have nothing against boulder, it's a beautiful place. I spent a weekend there and didn't see it as an amazing college town and that was when I was 18. I included columbus in my college town mainly for the fact it attracts pretty talented 18 year old kids more then it does boulder. Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers as I had. AA is a favorite of mine mainly because I know the area and have had a lot of fun there.
- pro tip- never say anything bad about boulder on this blog cause people really really like it.

Lulwat? Boulder is a great city. You have to hate nice things in life if you don't like Boulder.

The ship hasn't sunk yet . . . abandon ship! Don't go down with it!
Boulder is an amazing city. And I havent even been there during ski season. I've also been to Clemson and Columbus and if you are honestly putting either of those towns above Boulder on the list of top college towns I'm going to have to call the authorities. This is a Drug-Free Blog Zone.
Disgruntled former moderator. I got a lot of problems with you people!
Fail. Colorado women are hot. Boulder is usually 50 and sunny in the winter. Have you actually been there?
life is like a box of chocolates... and you got the Whizzo Quality Assortment
Boulder has more days of sunshine annually than Miami or San Diego. Anyone who says that Columbus is a better city should be relegated to Bolivian for sacrilege and stupidity.
There was so much fail in his post. I bet he was expecting us to agree with him. Boulder is easily one of the best college towns.
Greetings from Bolivia.

I'm honestly wondering if the phrase, "I went to Colorado and it sucked!" has ever been uttered?
Closest I ever heard was "I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this"
+1 so, so hard. I'm talking a raging, truly obscene +1 here. The kind they'd feel weird about giving up at the Adult Movie Awards.
Maybe you have higher standards, but I thought the girls of Boulder were pretty damn good looking. It took a handful of days before I spotted the first girl that wasn't fit. Or maybe it was indeed all the beer I drank.
You're a moron. Boulder is beautiful and full of pretty transplants from LA and Phoenix. Front Range winters are pretty darn easy for places where can snow. CU's academics are solid too. There's no reason, other than self inflicted stupidity, that CU cannot be a big time program.
Colorado has a football team? I thought all they do is ski.
"Some F---ing Statistics" - Spartan reply to the question, "You know what would look really sweet on those scoreboards?"
To be quite fair, 0 TDs is a statistic, as are 23-45 and 187 yards passing.

This week is a good one, but dang that USC guy is an asshat. Plus, the Sparty tears taste oh so great, but man I really hope Brian doesn't have to be the main focus of next week's TWIS.

Ill never forget my father taking my brothers and I to the Colorado game in 97. My father is the biggest pessimist of a Michigan fan iv ever met. On the way to the game that day he predicted a National title. After the game we went to a dinner at a place in Williamston Mi just so we could eat buffalo. That was the last game my brothers and I made it to together. I know CSB!
If an OSU fan divorces his wife are they still brother and sister?

Loved the gif of the Texas guy about to taunt the Marine and getting more than he bargained for.
Being a Michigan fan in TX , I would love to post that on my FB. Can anyone help me out?

If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
This clearly wins the gif of the year competition.

I cannot stop watching this...so damn funny
The guy on the right, with the buzz cut, is worth watching.
Nobody home...
He looks almost exactly like Hoke.

In that they're both overweight? Past that, I don't see any similarities.
They do look similar in the face. Not the hair, obviously, but in the face, I can see it.
The facial resemblance is there. The hair is a lot different. If they had the same hair it would be super obvious, but there is no denying that it's there.
I'm shocked that I was negged and also shocked that they drew the "fat" comparison when the face is so obvious

Is that Goodwin is an Olympian. It's like here's a great chance to show some pride in America, and the marine makes it his mission to slide over and voice his displeasure.
Civilians do NOT salute officers.
The Marine is not an officer, but yeah, I don't think he took too kindly to it.
Or at least that is what I have read on other sites. They say he was shushing the crowd.
"The Ruhr will not be subjected to a single bomb. If an enemy bomber reaches the Ruhr, my name is not Hermann Göring: you can call me Urban Meyer!"
And nobody salutes a gunnery sergeant, which is what that guy is, unless they want to have tinnitus for the rest of their life but instead of a hum or a buzz it sounds like FUCK YOU I WORK FOR A LIVING over and over.

For the life of me I can't understand why Colorado is so terrible. I know their program was kind of shady when McCartney was winning big there, but is it really impossible for them to be clean and successful?
