TWIS is up

Iowa wins the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness. I was surprised by the minimal coverage of Michigan given what I felt were big meltdowns, but maybe not as bad as I remember. Or Brian was being nice.

I hate the new sbnation layout. It's so large, obtrusive, and hyper-dependent on scrolling. Why'd they have to change it?
September 25th, 2012 at 4:37 PM ^
Too much.
September 25th, 2012 at 4:38 PM ^
I actually just came back to the board to complain about this, too! I haven't read any SBN sites in a couple of weeks and tried to check out Maize'n'Brew this morning. It's borderline unreadable.
What say you, Charles Barkley?
September 25th, 2012 at 4:53 PM ^
They're a bunch of knuckleheads.

Not a fan, but it absolutely kills EDSBS. I hadn't realized it was SB Nation but it had a unique layout that just said EDSBS. Maybe it's just me, but it just "looked like EDSBS". Now it looks generic.
September 25th, 2012 at 4:44 PM ^
They clearly designed it for tablets. I'm annoyed, too.
September 25th, 2012 at 4:49 PM ^
So, here's another one, like the TWIS... and ironically they have a new layout too. Easier to read, and good content too, even though it is rollbamaroll.com. Always guaranteed a few good laughs.

They have a new layout because all sbnation sites got a new layout --- edsbs, bhgp, blackshoediaries, maizenbrew, etc
September 25th, 2012 at 5:03 PM ^
Not so ironic then. Lol.
But still, it's much easier to follow their lay out.

http://www.sbnation.com/authors/brian-cook
is only showing stuff from May/June.
http://www.sbnation.com/users/Brian%20@%20MGoBlog/blog
does work, though.
It just feels like the whole of sbnation is yelling at me.

I am still pondering whether BiSB has reviewed my comments which he deemed flagrant enough for a Bolivianing. I'd like to know what I posted that was so incendiary.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:18 PM ^
Take your medicine, keep your chin up and make quality contributions and you'll find your way back soon enough. Thought BiSB was pretty clear -- he was cutting with a hatchet not a scalpel the Night of Many Whoopsies.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:21 PM ^
That sounds more like something venereal disease-related than blog postish.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:23 PM ^
Would technically be "The Night of the Long Whoopsies"...
Or something like that.
September 25th, 2012 at 7:29 PM ^
that doesn't involve comparing someone to Hitler or the Nazis.
Kudos, my friend.
September 25th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
Barely veiled sexual reference? Every day of the week and twice on Sundays (that's what I wish she said).
Nazi reference? Under no circumstances. Ever (unless the Jeopardy topic is "Infamous Assholes in History"). Any comparison to the putsch in 1934 is completely unintentional.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:30 PM ^
The snowflake nature of the thread combined with the "Denard is a horrendous quarterback who lacks mental fortitude" stuff gives me pause. But above all, it makes me worry that the next time something goes to shit you may re-offend and contribute to the Chinatown-ening of the board.
I will make a deal with you; I'll cut your suspension to one month, with credit for time served.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:45 PM ^
Now is not the time to go soft! I suggest, nay demand, that a new rule be implemented that anyone and everyone who starts a thread be banned for a full fortnight!

Why are you there?

Little known fact:
I have this many points because I made a Paterno joke when the scandal broke and was docked 10,000 points. I successfully petitioned to get them back, as I had a good diary all put together. Then, my timeout expired and I got a second 10,000 points tacked on to my total, artificially inflating my total.
Now I look like one of the cool kids with a lot of points. Or one of the dorky kids, depending on how you view MGoPoints.
I feel like admitting this will help me to sleep better tonight. I'm pretty sure that the statute of limitations is no longer in play, so I expect my points to be there tomorrow...
September 26th, 2012 at 9:29 AM ^
I have docked you the original 10,000 points, plus another 10,000 points for not pointing out the error earlier. But I have granted you 20,000 points for your honesty.
I hope you've learned your lesson.
September 26th, 2012 at 11:18 AM ^
I feel like I'm at Hogwarts!
September 26th, 2012 at 3:56 PM ^
so flwolverine is your sister, and your daughter?
September 25th, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
Nick Saban, Bobby Petrino, John Gruden, Vince Lombardi, Les Miles, Bear Bryant, am I missing anyone?
September 25th, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
Stoops, Bob. Should be easy for Arkansas to lure him one state over. It's Arkansas, fergawdsakes.

September 25th, 2012 at 5:03 PM ^
Michigan fans should really, really be hoping for Dantonio or Narduzzi to go south.
September 25th, 2012 at 5:09 PM ^
Arkansas's experience with coaches from MSU is clearly going swimmingly.
September 26th, 2012 at 1:11 PM ^
I think they're both doing a fine job of "going south" right in EL this year. I don't want to see either of them leave until they taste a fair measure of revenge from the Maize and Blue.
September 25th, 2012 at 6:05 PM ^
My sources say Alabama is trading Saban to Arkansas for John L. plus a co-ed to be named later. John L. almost blew the deal by letting the cat out of the bag when talking about "his Alabama team". Book it.

BallHog1: if I hire an armadillo to wash my car, no sense getting mad at the 'dillow when he doesn't do a real good job of it.
Justifiable Hogicide: True, but you sure get p'd at the idiot that blew up the car wash and hired the armadillo.
--------------------------------------
The fact that the list of coaching candidates in some of their discussion threads includes the dead is sad yet hilarious at the same time. They are truly in hell in Fayetteville.

Clearly this is an imposter -- any real Hog fan would say "...the moran the blewed up that there car worsh..."

From EDSBS, on the Iowa loss last weekend:
Buyouts are a sign you've risen to a level of specialty in your profession so prized and so very rare that the very notion of changing jobs must be booby-trapped with horrendous financial penalties for all concerned. Either that, or your agent planted a bag of heroin in the President's car, and dialed 9-1 and waited for the University President to decide if he wanted to pay up or find out how fast police dogs really can bring down a sixty year old man at a full sprint.

Anyone else have flashbacks to Tenacious D while watching that Dantonio video?
September 25th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
Is that Section 1 on RR's right?

I had to avatar this. Too great.

Why? Why? Why??? Why is this necessary?? There's only one WD, and only ever will be. WD doesn't plug WD or tell WD how great WD is by using an assumed name.
Goddammit why?! Does one's work not stand on its own merits?! Does anyone else realize that opinions come from other human beings, who all too often would have been more useful if reincarnated as mosquitos.
Well, I suppose even the most seemingly indifferent-to-attention people are in fact the ones most preoccupied with it. I suppose this is the time for a "/" (forward-slash) thing because other people do that too. So: "/HA2H." twin sun, weeds.
