Tweets + Live Blog (Ace)

Submitted by GrowBlue on

I love reading the Live Blog during games, and typically keep up with it in between plays. The TV broadcast is delayed a number of seconds, so last week Ace's live in-person tweets regarding certain plays (usually TDs) were showing up in the Live Blog *before* the play even started on TV - anyone else notice this? It wasn't a big issue in a blowout, but I'd guess this week the game will be much closer, and I'll want to see the plays unfold for myself on TV. Perhaps Ace would be willing to delay his tweets or to disconnect his Twitter from the Live Blog (I'll still have it open in another tab)?

Thanks!

Usually the lag comes because he's at the stadium. Notre Dame denied MGoBlog's press credentials this year, so he'll be in phase with the rest of us.

Yeah, I mean, this is an option, but in-between plays is really the only time to read the live-blog. Last week his tweets were well pre-empting the play's start, so I'd be limited to live-blogging during only the first 20ish seconds of the play clock. You're a big live-blogger - you know there is more content than that ;)

Stay off the phone and computer and just enjoooy the game old fashioned style.

On a side not, we have no power and might not tonight. So the other half of my family(state grads) will be at my parents house with their kids and my parents just invited out family over and what was i supposed to say,"no thanks ill stay home without power and watch it on my phone" and look like an ass. But there are gonna be kids making noise, switching of channels, and lots of distractions. Usually watch the games by myself in seclusion nice and high. Cannot think of a worse way to watch this final epic matchup. And non of my boys have power either! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

For those of us nowhere near a tv or able to listen to the radio, the live tweets are a god send.  If you dont want to get info before the tv, then just stay off the live blog until the play is over.

As long as Brown Bear holds me stuff like Ace being 2 seconds ahead of the rest of us doesn't faze me.  I do like knowing Ace is from the future though.

not sure there's a sufficient solution but looking at the liveblog is certainly tempting. Hate the terrible feeling of suspense when ominious tweets start pouring in.

One of the greatest games in UM history and it was almost ruined because I was watching in a DC bar (The Pour House for those who know it) that had an HD cable feed on one screen on a side of the bar, but used a satellite feed for other TVs-- the end result was that one corner of the bar would cheer or stay quiet on every play about 5 seconds before the side I was on would see the play-- so we'd know it was either a good-to-great result or a bleah result before each snap.

Man, it sucked, despite all the great things happening on the field. Moving to the other side wasn't really an option because of crowd and no tables... so I fled at halftime and watched the second half at home.  I'm still aggrieved.  But I still got to watch Woodley's fumble return, so Fuck ND.  47-21.

In terms of timing, does the M radio broadcast tend to jibe with TV broadcasts? Ideally, I'd like to listen the M radio team (via Tunein.com) while watching the (muted, Irish-slappy) NBC broadcast. But I'm not sure whether delays will make this an exercise in frustration. Thanks.
