Leon McQuay Jr. @Quaydiddy2206
New drama L3 may not be able to announce at under armour game because of indecision of school choice.
It is better take your time and think things through than doing what Jordan Payton did.
I obsess over this stuff as much as the next guy, but there comes a point when you just feel that enough is enough, the kid can decide whenever he wants to decide. If he picks M, great. If not, then another kid who wants to be here will get the chance he would have had. And we don't need his father tweeting about the process.

You follow his dad? Shits getting weeeeeeird....
All in for some manball.
It was posted on GBW message board. Most of the services talk to his dad since L3 is pretty quiet about things.
His dad sounds like a dick. Damn dude, let your kid decide where he wants to go to school without calling it "drama."
This dad is approaching Seantrel Henderson's dad status.
IIRC, his dad got in a twitter argument vs Mike Farrell.

Now that, is just flat out funny.
We're not teaching them about sports, we're teaching them about life!
I think you're reading way, way too much into this. First of all, just because he termed this new wrinkle 'drama,' that doesn't mean he's using it in a pejorative sense (i.e., 'my son's a drama queen.')
Regardless of interpretation though, it's hard to say someone's a dick based on one innocuous word in a tweet.
It could be quite counter-productive to call a recruit's father a "dick." I hope the thread gets deleted.
Maybe we should stop insulting McQuay's father, if we want McQuay to play for Michigan. I could be wrong, but it may not look good if his dad does end up reading this blog....or worse yet, a rival school who is also recruiting him, shows him what "the other schools" are saying about him and his dad.

His dad has a Twitter...but you don't think there is any chance he reads blogs/message boards?
What an idiotic statement.
(wait for standard message board "hey Mr. McQuay...is that you?" comeback...)

Maybe it's not about being fickle and about him taking his time to make a major decision. We all want kids to decide on our time table, but this is a huge choice for them. Let them take their time; we're still months away from signing day.
I'm in no rush for him to decide either. More so my point was there are certain kids you get a feeling are not going to decide until they have too. I'll wait and click on the one that says he has decided. This twitter stuff gets silly in my opinion.
For what it's worth, I didn't neg/down mod you. I think you were getting at the same thing that I was, anyways (i.e., that these kids have the right to take as long as they need and teenagers aren't the best at decision making to begin with). But I'm with you that a lot of this 24 hour recruiting news is at best silly, often irritating. It's clearly not for me, and I should try and stay away, too.
at a totally new school, not one that's been on his list so far. Meaning it won't be Michigan or Vanderbilt or USC. It wouldn't shock me if Nick Satan lured him to Tuscaloosa with promises of a custom-built music production program with tricked-out studio equipment conveniently donated by a wealthy Alabama grad who's suddenly interested in music.
Nick Satan? You are better than that Don.

that people who troll hell message boards refer to Satan as Saban. So maybe Nick Satan makes him less vicious.

I find it very odd that his dad is tweating out regarding his son's recruitment....someone really likes all the attention in a Honey Boo Boo kind of way.

the less interested I am. Yawhn, as stated below, wake me when it's over.
I will never be convinced that a recruitment that drags on is about "finding" the best school as much as it is a negotiation.
When parents start to get involved with the media, I thank my lucky stars that I don't have to follow recruiting for a living.
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
No one has to follow recruiting, and it would probably be much less stressful if 10 blogs for each school didn't want an interview just because a kid is offered. As interesting as recruiting is these people deserve privacy. Why not wait to praise and interview recruits until they make a commitment? Has anyone thought constant "go blues" and "we need you" and "why would you go to that school" etc. is annoying as hell? It's pathetic really. Let the coaches do their jobs. "We" are not on the staff, nor the team.
(This isn't directed at you necessarily, just putting it out there)
because they truly are searching for the right fit, but I agree that there does seem to be a growing trend of kids dragging things out in order to create a buzz, and more often than not those kids are not a good fit with Michigan which is why I have thought we would probably have a similar lack of success down the stretch with the few elites we are still in on (including Derek Green IMO).

I really like to follow recruiting (I don't know why. Call it a compulsion), but sometimes certain players' situations turn into soap operas. That's when I tune out. Like you say "wake me up when it's over".

If so, I'd like to follow them too.

A little old, but . . .Sorry, should be up by Don's Saban/Satan post.
Tradition is something you can't bottle. But it is there to sustain you when you need it most. I've called upon it time and time again.
Willie T seems like a hell of a recruiter at USF. He's a very charismatic guy.
