Keep in mind that what he says might have more to do with ESPN's agenda rather than his own, although Clayton's statement does sort of make you think twice about that. But I feel like Adam Schefter is a guy that'd prefer his fellow Michigan alumni think favorably of him, rather than one to get a rise out of ruffling everyone's feathers like Drew Sharp. I could definitely be entirely wrong, though, in which case Schefter really is bit of a d-bag.

Schefter's comment...sigh... yeah...it is what it is. The NFL guys (Rapoport, La Canfora, et al) are going to spin this thing to the bitter end. It's a bad look for the NFL's brand to lose an elite coach to what they see as a lesser league. Many of their fans, those unconnected to Michigan, feel that Harbaugh to Michigan is shocking, because they just can't wrap their brains around why he would do it. The casual fans gobble up what ESPN, CBS and Fox report as gospel --forget the fact that those reports are compromised, because the networks hold huge contracts with the NFL -- and treat reports from NFL insiders as actual news instead of the orchestrated spin it is. Whatever. We won. They lost.

Cheers to a job well done, MGoBlog crew. This is a very good thing for us. I look forward to enjoying the ride with all of you.

I think you might be reading a bit much into it. I have to believe that somewhere in the back of his mind, he believes it's a done deal, but he doesn't want to proclaim it so a la Herbstreit in '07 and look like a complete buffoon in the process. I think he's just playing it safe.

Being that he's a Michigan alum, I'd bet that he wants Harbaugh here just as badly as we do. But given the nature of his job, he can't just go out and say that.

You're the guy who was complaining about points in a previous thread. Yet, hear you are, collecting points by complaining about them. The irony is killing me.

First rule of MGoPoints is not to talk about MGoPoints.

Calling someone out as the self appointed "Points Police" is incredibly pathetic. Therefore, my argument is absolutely valid.

You act like someone getting points is an affront to your manhood, or something. Why do you care? I only care because you directed your same douchebag laden song and dance towards me in a previous thread.

I'm off to bed. I await your eloquent response.

Even though this generated a fair amount of buzz already in one thread (as a comment) as well as on Twitter, if you didn't see that thread and don't have Twitter, here it is.

That being said, I work in Belleville - a mere 10 minute drive separates my office and Willow Run and he'll possibly be arriving around the time I plan on leaving the office tomorrow. I might have to be distracted and watch planes land for a bit, eh?
