Twas the night before The Game

Submitted by mfan_in_ohio on

Twas the night before The Game, and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse.

The M flag was hung by the front door with care

With hopes that a victory soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

Dreaming visions of Denard and his dreads.

My wife in her pj’s and I in my M cap

Had just settled down for a November night nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang to the window to see what was the matter.

Did I have a sickness? Some sort of bad fever?

It looked just like Greg Robinson’s beaver!

Behind this rodent arose such a sight,

A winged helmeted vision in the night.

More rapid than eagles the players they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

“Now Denard, now Daryl, now Junior and Vincent,

On Martin, on Roh, keep stunting and blitzin’,

On Kovacs, on Kenny, on Roundtree and Tate,

Tomorrow we knock off Ohio State!

The players charged right off with a shout,

And the beaver followed them to the south,

And I heard him exclaim, and I swear this is true,

“We’ll beat those Bucks.  Let’s Go Blue!”

This all just happened.

I'm not sure why....but all I keep seeing in my head is visions of Denard's early season highlights.  Difference is, they are all against Ohio State.  While I realize tomorrow isn't favorable, I have a gut feeling that I haven't had in past years that says we are going to win tomorrow.

I had this epiphany and proceeded to stand on the bar tonight and had the entire bar ask my iPhone, "Will Michigan beat Ohio State tomorrow?"  I shook my iPhone with the "Fortune Ball" app loaded.  It said, "It is certain."  This upset the people of Akron.

Twas the night before buckey and all throug the land

The waters were quiet because of Brandon's pimp hand

And Rich Rod, he knew this rivalry well,

He'd been prepping all season to unleash hell.

The players were all in their beds for some rest

For they knew that the next day they would take down the vest

To think of an upset was really not hard

I mean, come on, we still have Denard

GO BLUE!

And, as Adam Sandler said at a concert at Hill Auditorium the night before the 1997 OSU Game - "Love to eat turkey, 'cause it's great.  Hope we kick the shit out of Ohio State."

Go Blue!!
