It's an interesting day indeed when something you would totally expect a player to say regardless of his own assessment of the future becomes a rumor somehow. Did I miss something in the article?

I'm going all in and staying consistent with what I've been thinking all along - Jim's going to be our next coach. We will finally have nice things starting in 2015!

If the powers that be at M have half a clue, they would agree to the Hackett as AD for a few years "plan," only if they agreed to Hackett's plan regarding the M football coaching situation. All else in the AD is on auto-pilot for the forseeable future. This must mean that he has a lead on a top three for the football head coaching position that are of a quality nature, and meet with approval. Of course, I am not sure if the powers that be have half a clue about this problem.

Well, who knows, I want Jim to come home badly. I just think there is too much NFL money and wouldn't surprise me if he stays in SF. Rumors within UM from what I hear is that UM fans won't be disappointed, I just think Les Miles is the one who is signed, sealed, and delivered.

I don't buy the whole money thing. The highest paid NFL coach makes $8 million, the highest paid college coach makes $7 million. Not that big of a discrepancy. A huge athletic department like Michigan can compete with the NFL teams.

Have the money but that doesn't mean they will compete with an NFL team, not when they are paying DB, and the entire current staff about to be fired, competing with the NFL, not going to happen. Personally, I think it will either be Jim or Les.

They absolutely can and I believe they're prepared to for a guy like Jim. Texas was willing to pay upwards of $100 million to get Saban, Michigan can absolutely offer the same if it comes to it.

Like I said, maybe they can but no way in hell will they. Harbaugh won't need more than 5 million, like you said, money won't matter. If he wants to come home, he won't have a monetary minimum.

Well I think it'll require more money than what he's making currently. I think he wants to be back at Michigan but they'll have to make him an offer worthy of a coach that's had as much success as he has. If Michigan's ceiling is 5 mil (I doubt it is) then I really dont think that'll be enough.

Over 5 years more than pays for itself with PSD, season tickets, donations etc.

With debt servicing on the stadium anything less from a revenue standpoint is nuclear winter for the university.

Honest. Truth. I had a dream last night I was eating lunch in a cafeteria with Harbaugh and some 49er players (still in uniform) and I was really pitching him to come to Michigan to be our coach. The players said I couldn't say that stuff and he was still their coach. I told them to shut the hell up. Then I woke up before they beat me up. If he does not come here to coach Michigan, my sub-conscience is going to be very dissapointed.
