Tuesday night Drankin thread

Submitted by BRBLUE on

I know it's Tuesday night... it's the offseason, not a lot going on football wise. Decided to get a mix and match six pack at my local beer store and relax for the rest of the night. I got four founders Dirty Bastards, Broken Promises by Greenbush Brewery (wheat IPA) and Hop City Brewing Co. HopBot IPA.   Question is...What are you drinking?

Time to peruse the liquor cabinet and weigh my options.

I've heard good things about Greenbush Brewery, but I've never had anything from them. Good stuff?

I have a nice alternating mix of Hacker-Pschorr and Franziskaner Weissbier going right now. Seems about right for a sort of September-ish evening in the middle of July. I am actually sort of alternating between the All-Star game and a few other things right now, and as everyone else seems to have turned in a bit early this evening, well....I am not complaining about the current state of things.

Had a kale-fruit laced smoothie before leftover ribs (smoked Sunday...purposely non-competition-style, 5 hours at 225, foiled for 1 hour at 250).

Then delicious water.  Don't drink alcohol during the week.

I have been on Short term disability from work due to back surgery. I received a letter today separating be from employment. So I'm drinking some Corner Creek Reserve Bourbon. Cheers to corporate America!

I'm not sure if Black Socks was joking or not, but are you sure your termination was lawful?  This is certainly something to evaluate.  Meeting with an attorney won't cost you anything, and it might be able to get you your job back, or at least get you some $$$ to hold you over until you can find another job.

Got a bottle of Amstel Light left over from Saturday: before a few of the World Cup games I tried to buy beer from the country I was supporting in the game. Mmm, tastes like third place. Need to get some good first place German beer though.

Since little Mario Goetze is from Bavaria and plays for Bayern Munich, Augustiner would be a fine choice. I am partial to the Weihenstephaner line of wheat beers, the Bavarian state brewery. Amazing what a Bavarian brewmaster can do with yeast variety alone.

And there is always the God of wheat beers, Aventinus.
