Tuesday NCAAFB Open Thread Bowling Green@Buffalo

Buffalo -3. That's almost as shocking as bowl bound Idaho and Temple. Game is on ESPN2. It's the only thing on tonight. Thank god for the MAC. O/U is 57. I don't know anything about either team.

I know Freddie Barnes according to stats is one of the Best WR in the Nation again based on stats, he came to BG as a QB and actually played QB as a freshmen. Thats all I know about either team

That, plus they have no real run game to speak of is all there is to know really. Some of you may know this, but Barnes had 22 receptions for 278 yards and 3 TDs against Kent state a few weeks ago. The Kid really is pretty damn good.

Yeah, I don't doubt that he was down. I just think it'd be nice to prove that right after a bunch of players motion they recovered the fumble. So I guess BG is hoping that they block every punt from here on out. Their offense looked horrible on the first series.

Is anyone else listening to the stadium music? Just during the review they played the Jeopardy song as well as "mannah mannah" from the Muppet Show. I hope this trend continues through the rest of the game.

Brief thread hijack since I can't post my own - anyone know how many rows there are at Crisler? Trying to get tickets for the Friday night game and "best available" is row 41 in section 1. wondering how far from the top that is and whether I should possibly look on stubhub instead.

I'm a student at BG and I work in the press box during the home football games. BG's offense is on par with Central for best in the MAC, hands down. It's just the defense that is beyond horrible. Dave Clausen came in after that atrocious year at Tennessee and made the QB Tyler Sheehan a beast and turned Freddie Barnes into the top WR in the nation. I would be exaggerating except for the fact that he has 99 catches going into the game tonight (now 102) and the person with the second most receptions is some WR from Kansas who has 65 and Jordan Shipley from Texas is tied for third with 64. He also leads the NCAA in recieving yards, recieving yards/game, and is second in recieving touchdowns with 9. The only downside to him is he has a bit of the Braylon Edwards syndrome, where he has a case of the dropsies from time to time.

Michigan is 81st in Total D and BG is 88th in Total D. Michigan is 70th in Scoring D and BG is 87th. Now Bowling Green does have the 22nd best Pass D compared to Michigan's 63rd. Rushing D BG is 110th compared to Michigan's 85th ranked Rushing D. I'll take Donavan Warren and then trade secondaries with BG. So... ya take that however you want.

Horrible clock management to end the half. 1:39 and 80 yards, you pick up 30 yards by trying to run out the clock in just 30 seconds. You let 25 seconds waste on random running plays. You end up getting a 30 yard run to put you in long field goal range to end the half. BAH!

I will be working the BG-Michigan game next year for the BG athletic department... We're allowed to wear any polo we want to the games as long as there are no logos of other schools on our shirts... I've worn my striped Maize and Blue polo to every home game we've had here so far lol. Is it unprofessional to be wearing it at next years game? I will definitely be cheering for Michigan secretly and praying I get a glimpse at Devin/a more improved Denard at some point during the game. lol. btw, both Freddie and the QB are seniors this year so nothing to worry about in regards to BG having any sort of hope next year.

Come on, guys, there has to be something better to watch than Bowling Green/Buffalo! The Wings are on VS, the Pistons are on FSN-Detroit

I think Maynard got the first down marker and original line of scrimmage marker backwards. Game over. BGSU wins by 1. Great finish. Buffalo really shot themselves in the foot with special teams and clock management.

I had no idea there were so many BG alums on here! I just graduated in May, so I'm glad to see them pull out what sounded like a fun game. Of course, I will be rooting for the wolverines next year, but I hope BG doesn't get completely embarrassed. Actually, I might try to go to that game. Haven't been to a game in Ann Arbor in 8 or 9 years.

BGWolverine13, if you know the Falcons you know that they are very capable of pulling off a win in ann arbor against a michigan team that hasn't done so well in the past few years. Going into this last year no one would have thought they would do this good. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Dave Clawson will have some tricks up his sleeve for Michigan next year. I am a Michigan fan but will always go for my Falcons over the Wolverines. Besides in these days it looks like BG has more of a chance to go to a Bowl Game than Michigan does. We have some really good QBs coming into the system and one of our other great WR pronty will be returning to the team from a injury redshirt last year. The wolverines may kill us but as many of you know, we know how to scare the bajesus out of BCS schools. Does Ohio State in 2003 ring a bell? we could have won that game! Either way, best of luck to both teams this upcoming year. I hope Michigan only loses one game next year, to BG! Go Falcons! ay ziggy zoomba!
