Tuesday Football Visitors

Submitted by team126 on

247 is reporting that two Michigan top target and best in-state football players for 2016 class are visiting this coming Tuesday for the MBB game (eh, must be another overtime game):

Donnie Corley (WR) and Khalid Kareem (DE)

Both are not commit-watch type of guys at this moment so no buckle-up needed.

Really miss the 6-commit-a-day fest.

hopefully funchess lands in a good situation, hes obviously got serious potential given his natural ability.

be nice to see coaches / QBs take advantage of mismatches he can present - and im sure hell try to do his part working to become more disciplined and consistent receiver, repping on the jugs, running extra trees, etc.

im interested to see funchess in like 3 yrs - he could have really productive career if he develops the precision required in nfl

Most mock drafts have him going anywhere from mid 1st round to early 2nd. One of the teams that are giving him a hard look is the patriots. Would be tough for teams to contend with him and gronk. Wonder how many years Brady has left though. Once Brady and BB retire the patriots will go back to being below average and lose half their fan base lol.

"Could have."  That's the sad part.  He really could have.  But for some reason he just did not get it to click.  I guess that's why he was not a wide reciever in the first pace.

Hopefully for him he gets it all together for the NFL in enough time.  He certainly has the physical tools.

Or even try to get better at it? Being a self-described pretty boy as a freshman would have kept him on the bench under Carr and probably every other Michigan coach in my memory. If we're looking for reasons that Hoke didn't develop his players, I'd put that at number one.

Daelin Hayes seems to be far and away the best player and the best bet to actually pan out. I hope we have some chance at getting him to stay home now that he's back in Ann Arbor. Your tier 2 players are Corley, Kareem, Michael Onwenu, Dez Fitzpatrick and Matt Falcon. None are world beaters, it's a pretty down year for the state. Onwenu would be good to get for DT depth and Cass Tech pipeline continuance.

I disagree. There are some more guys I think Michigan will go after, and there are definitely some more guys that will end up in the Big Ten or other Power Five conferences. They might not end up at the Alabama's and USC's of the world, but there are some other decent prospects.

There are a lot of kids with 4-star ratings, but there's not that "can't miss" player in the class like Brian Cole and Mike Weber. Obviously no one is can't miss, however, to compare by like position: Brian Cole is a much better talent than Corley or Fitzpatrick. Weber's floor is probably higher than Pettaway and Falcon's ceiling. I believe John Kelly would be the top back in the state in 2016. There's no QB to write home about in this class, certainly not one that could start at Michigan as a true freshman. 2016 probably has a greater quantity of players who will eventually contribute for a Power 5 program, but it certainly doesn't have the ceiling of 2015.

Cass Tech DT Michael Onwenu (4*) is also visiting Tuesday. Plays and is being recruiting at both sides of the line. I am assuming we will recruit him on defense, as he is only just above 6 feet and he would give us some NT depth behind Mone (Gary being a 3-tech). Good player to get and develop, especially as OSU is having success in Cass' corridors the last few years.

I hope we end up with at least 20 slots for 2016.. Back to back 14 player classes equal 1 of osu's usual hauls. Need numbers because of huge junior class.
