Tuberville to ND? (pure speculation)

Submitted by alabluema on
Anyone else think Tommy Tuberville would be a good choice for Notre Dame? He wants to get back into coaching, knows southern recruiting well, and has an amazing record in big games. He's also well-spoken and can work crowds -- something Weis clearly couldn't do. Tuberville is a defensive-minded coach as well with a strong record as a recruiter. He might be just what Notre Dame needs.

South Bend sources are citing the prestige and excellence that comes with the Notre Dame head coaching job to explain how Saints coach Sean Payton is the leading candidate for the football vacancy the university is experiencing. Payton did little to rebuff the rumors, stating "Hey my team might be 11-0 but you're not in the Big Leagues until a giant drawn rendering of Our Lord Jesus Christ is looking down at you asking 'LOL WTF' because you went for it on 4th down in South Bend." Lou Holtz, when reached for comment, had this to say: "Thuckerin Thuckatash Nother Dame ith goin to tha World Cupth!"

One name I haven't heard yet, but wouldn't be surprised to hear in the running is Randy Edsall, the UConn coach.

If it weren't for the cultural mismatch, I'd endorse the idea. You make some good points. He might be tainted by all the shady SEC dealings (directly / indirectly), too.
