TTB: Saturday visit list... !!!!!

Submitted by Section 1 on

I cannot ever recall such a star-studded official visitors list.

http://touchthebanner.blogspot.com/2012/10/visitors-michigan-vs-michigan-state.html

Touch the Banner notes that the list is, as always, fluid and that there may be additions or cancellations.  But a lot of the visits are players taking their "official," and I suspect that those arrangements are pretty solid.  What a list!  I'll have trouble keeping my eyes off our visitors' section just to watch the game.

[Edit. - Tremendous offers the list of names, and more, minus Magnus's editorial blurbs.  Just trying to spread the credit for all of the painstaking work that goes into compiling the weekend plans of nearly 60 highly-recruited high school athletes, all teenagers: Tremendous blog.]

It was reported earlier in the week by Rivals that several of the commits were taking their official visits this weekend, but I think the visitor list is too expansive for them to get much individual attention.  It seems several of them will be taking their officials later in the fall.

It's like they have brought in an ENTIRE TEAM of recruits for one day.  If you suited up that group of recruits, they could probably win the Leaders division* (*eligible teams only) and the ACC Coastal diivision at the same time.

I didn't realize Da'Shawn Hand had high interest in Michigan.  That's exciting.  I've always believed talent wants to surround themselves with other talent; saying that, I'm sure it rubs off on Treadwell, Green, etc.

These are the 4 things I want to see happen, and they are in order.

1. Beat State (I know, right)

2. Derrick Green commits

3. Mason Cole commits

4. Damon Webb commits

My levels of inebriation, should such events transpire, will be the cause of envy across the entirety of Ireland.

I think it would be good if everyone who viewed the list was cognizant that some of those kids probably won't make the trip (scoop on Hand if it actually happens, which I doubt).  But overall a great list of names there, wow.

BTW, Hand's team (Woodbridge) plays E.J. Levenberry's team (CD Hylton) tomorrow night, if anyone's in the area and looking for some good players to watch...

I guess the baseball thing didn't work out for Brennan, Michigan Football is a good alternative to the Tigers. Getting left off the postseason roster must have made him rethink his athletic endeavors.

Michigan is taking an elite guy in 2013 (Shane Morris), but it seems like they're interested in getting a guy in 2014 who will be okay with playing second fiddle to Morris for a little while.  I would imagine that they'll be looking for another Morris-caliber recruit in 2015, and I'm not sure that Jayru Campbell fits that profile.

There aren't many people who have even rated the kids from the class of 2015, so I'm not sure how he's overrated...  The thing that really matters as far as "ratings" go right now is that a few FBS schools have already offered him full ride scholarships.

I honestly clicked over to TTB  just to look at the hot girls picks.  Sorry recruits, but Kelly Karloff is superfluous!

I'm pretty sure that word does not mean what you think it does.

adjective
1. being more than is sufficient or required; excessive.

2. unnecessary or needless.

3. Obsolete . possessing or spending more than enough or necessary; extravagant.

I don't think you can have "too many" visitors, because the number of kids there makes the school seem like a real destination, where people want to visit, see games, play, etc.  Having this many visitors is a good thing.

However, the coaches aren't going to be able to spend as much one-on-one time with all these recruits as both parties would probably like.  There's only so much time in a day.  But guys who are coming from a long way (Green, Cole, Scott, etc.) or who are on officials will probably receive the lion's share of attention.  The guys with no offers or just a couple MAC offers from Michigan or Ohio can come back anytime for a little more contact.
