Bob McKenzie discussing Merrill's road back...interesting read.
Also, did anyone else see the article on Di Giuseppe in The Hockey News?

I think that the US junior national team is interested, and that Michigan will allow him to play, is good news in terms of being on his way back. I don't think Red would let him play if he didn't think he was on good behavior as of late.
Hope he gets everything together.

In other hockey news Chris Pronger is out for the season with a concussion.

As much as it suck to be without Pronger, Crosby etc. you have I give the NHL credit for taking head injuries seriously. Seems like they've learned a lot more the past few years about player safety than the NFL

But he played us so good we never saw it coming.

Didn't he say he was staying Blue like 100,000 times?

It was the Kobe trick. He told everyone that he wouldn't play in the OHL because it was dangerous with the Domi name on the back of his jersey. When all the other OHL teams backed off London drafted him just like they all planned.

I don't see any way that Merrill suits up this year. Red is notoriously a by the book kind of guy.

on the Michigan Rivals free board for hockey think he'll be back after the WJC and they have as much feel for the pulse of the program as anybody. I think if Red intended him to be suspended for the rest of the year, he would have said so already, but he just said, that Merrill is suspended "indefinitely". I also don't think Red would give Merrill his blessing to play at the WJC, or to practice and be in all team events if he was going to keep him out the entire season. I could be wrong, but I would expect to see Merrill back right after the WJC and if not then, by the State game at Joe Louis at the end of January.

Any totally irresponsible rumors about what he did?
