True freshman Seth Collins to start for Oregon State

Submitted by SalvatoreQuattro on

Apparently he is an athletic QB. Should make for an interesting challenge. Oregon State's OL did have issues with Weber State so I expect Anderson to use tempo to offset the significant advantage Michigan has along the line.

Michigan's tackling has to be alot better this week as well.

That was expected.  For those not following Oregon State - they are changing their offense in a complete revamp ala Carr (Riley) to Rich Rod (Andersen).  Pro style to spread.  The Qbs on their roster ala 2008 UM, were not good fits.  So the modest star dual threat guy in this class that Andersen put together - Seth Collins - is the "answer".

Oregon State gave 2-10 in 2014 FCS team all it oculd handle last week playing nearly even thru 3 quarters before pulling away late.

I'm expecting a very positive outcome for UM this game as I have Oregon State as the worst or 2nd worst Pac 12 team this year.  Offense should be able to work out a lot of kinks vs a defense that has 9 new starters.

But a great staff long term.  Great time to play them.

For a change I want to see Morris in the second half because we have a big lead. I can't remember when we had a backup QB playing most of second half.

I think it's a tad early to be wondering how soon the second string goes in on Saturday.  I will be happy with a solid win.  Besides, if Rudock is going to be "THE MAN" this year, I would expect him to get most of the reps to help him grow into this offense faster.

Oregon State had 36 yards passing at halftime and a 6-0 lead on field goals against a 2-10 FCS team.

The score was 13-7 in the 4th quarter.

Under Rich Rod and Hoke Michigan had a habit of making every pedestrian QB look like Tom Brady. I hope this does not continue.

Again, this is an actual coaching staff that we have now.

I know it's been awhile since we've had one, but things are different as you can tell by how the team kept responding on the road when taking a hit by a good team.

Ya that's because we gave up 3rd after 3rd down play...

We didn't allow many 3rd down conversions against Utah and I doubt Oregon state will do much of anything against us.

They certainly won't run the football

I just want to see the offense hit a few of those big pass plays and see the defense get some pressure. It's not to play a Power 5 team to start the home schedule, especially when its a lower level one.

A physical team. They have some speed, but I just can't see Michigan winning by fewer than 14 points. We are going to have success running the ball in this game also. I believe after this weekend that Utah is a complete football team that has a shot to win the PAC 12.

Yeah I'm not so sure they won't.  Their biggest question mark is defending spread teams, but they ought to be able to score on anyone so I think they have the potential to hang even with the better spread teams they'll face.  They beat USC and UCLA last year already, so I don't doubt they at least have the potential to beat them again this time.  I think this is a better Utah team than what was already a solid squad in '14.
