This is why I actually like Herbstreit.  He's not an OSU homer but is still obviously a fan, what with his kids dressed in OSU gear during Gameday picks.  I don't have to like it, but I can't hate him for it either.

Desmond does the same thing...he's able to objectively critique Michigan without sounding like a dope.  I don't see Denard tweeting "fake wolverine."

Pryor is...uh...well...derp.

Herbstreit ratf*cked OSU several times during Tressel's first few years, most notably during 2003-2004, when he a) said on air that if he was advising recruits, he'd tell them to go anywhere but OSU, and b) during the Alamo Bowl, when he and the other announcer spent the entire game trashing OSU athletics as a whole.

Hindsight is 20/20. Pryor is putting up some big numbers, but he's not exactly the world beater everyone predicted him to be at this point. Everytime he opens his mouth it makes me glad we didn't end up the highest bidder for his services.

Is what he may be trying to refer to.  Maybe he feels the Miami players were saying the "The U" before OSU players started saying "The Ohio State University".  And maybe he doesn't hearing athletes in other sports saying it.  I don't know which I remember hearing first, but I find both similarly annoying.

Plus when Miami started saying all the "The U" business, they were no longer Thug U.

That may be tre that he isn't quite a world beater, but personally I think that his skills have not been utilized well at Ohio State. If he'd have came here he would probably be very silimar to Cam Newton: big back that has breakaway speed and can make easy throws. Obviously, I'm glad that we have Denard, but Pryor could be way more productive in this offense.

...a fake quarterback who is in the discussion for the Heisman, who's 10-1, and who has beaten Michigan each chance he's had.

I'm not sure why Michigan fans feel the need to talk so much shit about Pryor's skill.  I understand that he's stupid, but this is nothing more than sour grapes.  If you disagree, take a look in Michigan's own backfield and see how you would label Denard Robinson...

i'd like to point out that he's in the "discussion" for the heisman but not in the discussion.  other than that i agree.

i can admit that i still would've liked pryor at michigan.  i can guarantee it wouldn't have fallen off a cliff like it did with sheridan/ threet in 08 and 09 likely would've been better too.  plus, i have this sneaking suspicion that:

pryor at michigan >  pryor at ohio state

he would've been put to better use here.

His analysis is solid, and he's usually objective...but the Les Miles outing still bothers me...out of scope for his job and painted Miles into a corner to stay at LSU.  I think the program will be better of in the long run with RR, but still think at the time a potential Les Miles hire was thought of as the favored direction that would keep M rolling, and Herbie's 'scoop' undermined that..

is dumb as a box of rocks.  I'm glad we don't have that drama queen at UM.  Granted, I was hoping to win the recruiting battle for him and maybe as a result 2008 and 2009 wouldn't have been quite so brutal, but his antics/personality/outbursts are pure silliness.
