Trolls Fear Rich Rod

Submitted by OSUMC Wolverine on

It actually makes me feel even more confident in the future of this program under Rich Rod when I see the trolling going on here by fans of other teams wanting and encouraging the dismissal of RR.  The fear level of our opponents is climbing even with things still not firing on all cylinders.  When we field a midling defense in the next year or two there is going to be a lot of crying in the Midwest....I doubt they will come back here and admit it though.

Thank you kind trolls for your fear----it brings warm feelings to my heart.

No, they are laughing at you for not being a supportive fan and for not realizing that this was not a serious post.  For the record, there was a whole country who feared his offense 3 years ago to the tune of Alabama settling for Saban when RR shot them down.  In time this program will be competing at the highest level....2012/2013 will be a MNC game for us....

Yes, you are right.  Ohio State and Michigan State fans laugh at Michigan fans who aren't "supportive".

Get a grip.  Half my family went to MSU.   Only my uncle and I went to UM.   THEY ARE LAUGHING AT US.    Everytime I get together with my MSU family members, all I get from them is ho much they love Rodriguez and how they now get to kick our butts every year.  The only thing they fear is that he won't be around to be their punching bag for much longer.

Could Rodriguez eventually build a team that was fearsome?  Maybe.   Right now?  No way.  Teams can't WAIT to play us and pay us back for all those years we owned them.

Is that what I said?  No.  I said that the idea that our opponents fear Rodriguez is ridiculous becuase they are actually laughing at our current misfortunes.   It's pretty hard to fear someone when you can't stop laughing.  Maybe if we actually start playing well against good teams they will start worrying, but we haven't beaten anyone really good since the Florida bowl game.

But hey, no more potty words in your last post, so that's a positive.

Now *that* is laughable.

I would have enjoyed beating them this year, but above all, I want them fat and happy and thinking they have some relevance before reality strikes. I hope they enjoy this year, because it will be the last time that program sees anything other than an occasional conference play-off game.

What they fear is Jim Harbaugh. Most rival fans were actually happy we beat Illinois and Purdue cause it probably means Rich Rod's job is safe. It felt like last year when we wanted Notre Dame to be just good enough so they would keep Charlie. Our fanbase is divided big time and it will only get worse if we don't win or keep it close on Saturday. Brandon has a real tough decision to make.

I have always claimed to support the Michigan coach, but the day that wins and losses are put ahead of everything else, I'm done. To hire him after he shot his mouth off about the university in the hope he can win a few games would make me physically ill. A2 would have met it's destiny and realized it was indeed a cheap whore.

He did and Mike Hart told him where to stick it. But right now it seems like if we were to make a change it would be Harbaugh or bust. That is why Brandon is in a real tough situation. The hottest coach on the market is a former alum who has done an incredible job at Stanford of all places. We either pull the trigger (he has said its his dream job... but so did Les Miles) or he probably joins his brother in the NFL.

He hasn't won against a ranked B10 team so far.

I know we have been very very thin on defense the past couple of years - but still, it is concerning nonetheless.

I do find several things to be a bit disconcerting, however.

WTF is deelithium? Is that next year, when Denard hands off to Dee Hart? Is he going to pass him the Dilithium, or will it just rub off on the ball? What if Justice wants some? Will Einstein's theories still be relevant at that point, or will we need strings and loops? Now I am so confused.

trolls don't fear RR then just want to make us go against our fanbase.  We all understand right now Michigan is summed up as; a freshmen defense, the scheme that isnt working, the offense is explosive, stop kicking the ball! However stand by your team,  these freshmen won't quit! The defense will keep fighting.  When Junior caught that ball, I said "thank you AMHG".  The Game still has to be played! So for 60 minutes our Michigan football team will face a tough challenge, win or lose I still love Michigan football.  Root for the underdog, because anything can happen on "Any Given Saturday" Go Blue!

The only people they should fear on Michigan are Barwis, Molk, and Martin.  Come to think of it I would love to see Martin and Barwis face off in the octagon.  HOW do we make this happen?

I have had the same sentiments about anti-RR trolls for almost three years now.  If you are an MSU or OSU fan, your worst nightmare is RR getting enough time at Michigan to fully install everything with his own class of fifth-year seniors.  And it will get even better once being back on top gets even better players to come to Michigan.

If the administration is patient enough, things could "set up" to a point where Michigan has their greatest period of success since the 40's.

You need to better inform yourself about Michigan football history.

UM's greatest period of football success was not the 40's. It was the 39 consecutive winning (with one .500) seasons that ended upon the beginning of the Rich Rod nightmare.

Fans of rival teams (minus ND) love Rodriguez because they've beaten him a lot and they don't follow Michigan football closely enough to know the specifics of the situation. They assume that he cannot coach defenses, as Michigan's defense has gotten worse every year he's been here and that as long as Michigan has terrible defenses, they'll beat us regardless of how good our offenses are. Many assume he will be fired and are just laughing at us about the past three years.

I work with an OSU grad and he has said over and over he actually hopes RR makes it so we are relevant again.  We make each other stronger.  And he kinda feels sorry for me.
