Down to Bama or Bucks. I hope he is going to Alabama.
Sad to see a Michigan fan not even take an visit to Ann Arbor. If RR got him on campus, I think we could of had a shot.

I think you can be a fan, and still do whats best for yourself, even if that mean going against everything that stands for.
But...I agree, he wasn't truly a fan since he didn't even visit
I disagree. Jim Tressel makes way more in a year than I'll make in 20, but if OSU approached me to be their next head coach I'd say up yours.
you mean you wouldn't take the job to purposely lose to Michigan every year?

Haha fair point.
In response to both you and Koyote, this was meant as an analogy for what DePriest is going through. If it turns out he picks the Buckeyes so that he can purposely miss assignments every time he plays Michigan then I will reassess my opinion of his fandom.
I'd love that job. Postgame vs. UM:
Reporter: "Umm,.....coach why did you punt on second down?"
Me:"We wanted to pin them. It's all about field position."
Reporter: "Coach why are you wearing a Michigan sweatshirt?"
Me: "It goes with my shoes. You're reaching. Next question."
I do this on the NCAA games every so often. Go to OSU, run them into the ground, get fired, take some crap school like Middle Tennessee State to prominence, go back to OSU, run them further into the ground, etc. It was even better when you could pick up sanctions (NCAA 06 or whenever that was).
Edit: ^^^^Great minds think alike
Disagree, you take the job and throw every game against Michigan and other important games.
I agree, it sounds like he was a fan is the most casual sense. It's too bad he didn't even give us a shot - for a while it was said we'd be in on it if we had a good season - and we didn't even get that much.
Trey - go to Bama. I'd hate for you to get smoked for 4 years by your "favorite" team.
Yeah, learn from Justin Turner's mistake.
(He's going to 'Bama)
...and transfer out of Ohio schools before the Bucknuts who run their silly standardized test start "losing the scores" of every player who didn't go scarlet and gray.

Hey, it's not like I mentioned that UM admitted a kid who couldn't pass a test that requires only a 40% score to pass and is written at an 8th grade level.
Oh dang.
For the record, they admitted me and I failed my HSPTs.
Apparently the correct answers, when seen on the answer sheet, were NOT in the shape of a TIE fighter.
Pity.

From all the insiders at Bucknuts it's really been up in the air. Some say he's an absolute Bama lock and another is saying Buckeye all the way. I'm really trending toward Bama for this kid unfortunately for us. One of his highschool coaches seems to be leading him toward Bama for unknown reasons. Some seem to think the coach is trying as good as he can to get in with Saban as an assistant down the road. I think a lot of it is just sour grapes though from a lot of the OSU fans.
If he would come to OSU, he wouldn't be sitting for much more than a year (if that) as the depth chart isn't extremely deep at LB, at least not for someone as talented as Depriest.
I come in peace?
picks alabama
"Gentlemen, it is better to have died a small boy than to fumble this football." - John Heisman
I actually grew up in Springfield too, where Trey is, and there aren't many true Michigan fans. There are kids who say they're Michigan fans just to be different, but deep down, they're Ohio State fans too. It's hard to escape the ever-present infestation of scarlet and gray. I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up a Buckeye, especially since his good buddy Braxton Miller is already one.

you can have DePriest. We'll take Dee Hart.
I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
Did an interview with him for the Detroit News awhile ago, where he stated he grew up a Michigan fan.
I googled it but the article is no longer available.
If Trey ends up going to Bama that would be 2 years in a row where the top linebacker prospect in Ohio, and one of the best in the nation, left the state. In the 2010 class it was Jordan Hicks i believe. Even these kids know the state sucks.
No Fly Zone!
...iirc, wasn't really an Ohio native and therefore did not have any real allegiance to that stupid school down there.
Do Something. If it works, do more of it. If it doesn't, do something else.
9/9 so far for in state kids. Even if we lose Depriest we still have no.1 CB Doran Grant which a lot of people are calling a heavy Buckeye lean. When this year's recruiting is complete it will end up as a heck of a class for OSU no matter if Depriest commits to OSU or UA.
I come in peace?
Why this was negged. Probably the comment about being 9/9...

yeah thats not true, Depriest is more than just icing on a cake. He has the potential to be a difference maker on the field, any school in the nation would make room for him no matter what their LB situation looked like.
That said I do agree OSU has been very successful in recruiting this year, and should close out strong.

It doesn't matter where these guys commit to know.If we have a good season we can sway these guys minds.Clinton Dix Dee Hart teamate is already thinking bout visiting, and if Trey commits to bama we might be able to steal him back, and yes he was a Michigan fan growing up.If you listen to the recuirting round on wtka.com you would know that.
I logged on just to make a similar statement. There are also plenty of other prospects available.
(Not aimed any particular poster here) I would also add that since some of these young guys and their parents, friends, and coaches read these blogs and message boards it would not look favorable on Michigan if the fans acted like dicks when a commit is rumored or actually not in our favor.
"Runnnn!!! get to da choppa"
Hard to call yourself a fan when you don't even visit and the main rival is in your top two. Good luck to him and his horrible definitions of words.
or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
