Tressel: Stay or Go?

Submitted by coastal blue on

Would you rather have Jim Tressel be forced out of Columbus with a 9-1 record (at least until a more in depth investigation is conducted and OSU is forced to surrender several of those victories) against Michigan or have him stay around so we can attempt to take him down a few notches on the field?

Eh, don't really care. The only time I would really care is if him leaving would cause Dantonio to jump ship to OSU. This would just provide me with endless hours of amusement at the cost of the MSU fans who fawn of their coach.

The joy of watching the Tressel fans (including the one who wears a red tosu sweater vest every late November) see their sainted coach brought down would be immense.

he will never be fired, they will never have sanctions, this is O$U, they make the ncaa way too much money. they will keep being the dirtiest program , they will keep winning, they will keep making $$$$. the ncaa scoffs at the notion that they look the other way with O$U because of money, much like rafeal palmero scoffed when accused of using steroids

If this story turns out to be true then Ohio State will get hit as hard as it gets. And I'm not talking about vacating some wins or years of probation.
I'm talking loss of scholarships, and lots of them.
After that Ohio State should be pretty easy to beat. (I'll take wins over osu any way I can get them)

I'd rather see him stay and lose. I hate Tressel with the white hot passion of a thousand suns. He's like that creepy music teacher in high school that thought learning how to properly draw a clef was the most important thing in the world.

I would be interested to see what a cleanly run OSU program looks like, and then I would like to pummel it in a game with Tressel doing a Linda Blair headturn on the sidelines.

blah blah blah. blah blah blah. And Coach Tressell is suspended for team dinner Wed. night. You think anything really will happen to him. O$U

i want tressel gone. not because we've only beat him once because we now have hoke and Michigan will once again stomp on those nutcases. but because he is a coach that cheated, to try and hide the fact that his players cheated. i've said it multiple times and i'l lsay it again, osu is a school for SCUM BAGS!!!!

I spend a fair amount of time in the Columbus area and have a bunch of friends who went to OSU. It is hard to believe just how much disgust this latest event has evoked. It is also nice to see them in the kind of pain we were in not too long ago, but their's runs lots deeper.

I'd bet that unless there is more than we know, it is a wrist slapping and he stays.

I was reading the ESPN article and they said the team reported over 300 NCAA violations since 2000. Given most were minor, but those are SEC-type numbers there.

I like Tressel the human being. OSU or not.

He's a great coach, the fact that he's our rival's head general notwithstanding. He showed class and respect for the program last year by not running up the score when his team took a knee.

I'll feel good when M can finally beat the guy frequently, but in my honest opinion, he doesn't deserve this.
