Well if there's anyone who has a passion and a knack for covering recruiting like Tremendous did, nows your chance to jump on that dream. From looking at all of the comments and my own personal experience, you would definitely be filling a void and providing an appreciated service.

Damnnn.. This really makes me sad. I would go to the Tremendous website almost just as much as Mgoblog. It is always second on my history list with TTB third. Makes me feel like I just lost a good friend:(

I was wondering why there hasn't been any new tremendous intent in a while. I was hoping there was going to be a smorgasbord of new information... This is quite the dong punch

This is obviously a bummer as Tremendoes/Aquaman/SteveLorenz was a great resource who I read often.

HOWEVA, where there is need there is opportunity.  Tremendous took advantage of the lack of TomVH, and now someone will take advantage of the lack of Tremendous, especially now that there's a trend of being hired by a pay site.  I bet by mid-summer there are a handful of new Michigan recruiting blogs, have of which are run by MGoBlog posters, one of which will be just as good as Tremendous was (not to take anything away from him, of course).

There is obviously a huge demand for free M recruiting blog, and that's probably a really fun job for someone if you're good at it.  This is like if the guy selling hot dogs or t-shirts on the way to the stadium moved away.  Someone else would start selling hot dogs or t-shirts promptly thereafter.

Lots of new blogs have popped up in the past few years, and most of them have folded or been absorbed by other sites.  Varsity Blue was absorbed by MGoBlog, and then Tim moved on to The Wolverine.  Then The Wolverine Blog popped up and was absorbed by MGoBlog.  Now Tremendous has been absorbed by 247 Sports.  I guess it's the natural evolution of capitalism.

For sure, but that's the motivation for new blogs to pop up.  If you make a good one, you could get hired by a bigger site (MGoBlog) or hired by a pay site.  To extend my analogy, it's like if the hot dog guy gets hired by Oscar Meyer full time or something like that.  Some other young and excited hot dog seller will start his stand for a shot at the big time.

to comment over there. They liked all the Michigan-related commenting I did here and really felt I would be an asset to their board.

But seriously, Michigan fans are too good at being bloggers. People keep picking all the sweet free stuff off. I hope MGoBlog remains free forever

At least in the immediate future, a lot of my football analysis I did for Tremendous will be coming back to this site (in the form of diaries probably). I know most people were interested in the recruiting aspects (which I understand), but I always hope that my content added something to the site. Hopefully what I put up over here is an appreciated small addition for the bigger loss that is a free Michigan focused recruiting site.

Congrats to Tremendous as well. I'll miss working on the site but think you made the correct decision.

I'm happy for Tremendous, and very glad to see that he can get paid professional-level money to do what he loves.  Anytime someone gets a "promotion" based on performance, especially when he did all of the work himself from the ground up, it's great to hear.

So could someone please explain:

1.  Who the bald zombie-looking pall bearer is?  (I assume he brethes underwater or actually IS a zombie)
2.  How does Hawk-Man breathe without a helmet like batman (bubbles?)
3.  Is that Aquaman's squeeze being consoled by WW ?(also not wearing a helmet by the way)

I MUST learn these answers before I start drinking in 3 hours!

1. Metamorpho, the Element Man. He's made of and can become various elements, so he doesn't need to breath. 2. Uhhh, next question. (Actually back in that day he was a space cop so even though his face shows it might have had some sort of breathing apparatus. But ten he probably flew through space without a shirt). 3. Yes, Mera. Not sure if he was his wife yet by then. But certainly before their kid was murdered. And I'm guessing WW can hold her breath close to as long as Superman. (Mera was an underwater person too)

Great news for Tremendous.  I wish him the best of success at 247.  Maybe he can pop over to MGoBlog every now and then and submit his info for us?  No one has to know.

Yet another joins the ranks of the scouting services that could not have played much of any of the sport he is to analyze recruits at.

signed

good explosiveness, plays high, great highlights, loose in the hips, and had a great visit, thinks the coaches are intense.

Most of the staff writers aren't involved in the actual scouting and ranking. TomVH doesn't rank prospects for ESPN. Just does interviews and reports on UM related recruiting stuffs. I don't even think 247 had a dedicated UM guy for their UM before. The Iowa guy doubled as UM's as well.
