Treadwell, Morris & Lewis among IMG Top 10 Performers
The Michigan Elite/IMG 7-on-7 competition wrapped up today, and 247's Steve Wiltfong who was covering the event put out a list of his top 10 performers from the weekend.
Topping the list was Laquon Treadwell at #1, with Shane Morris at #4 and Jourdan Lewis at #9. Nice to see Michigan players and recruits performing well at every camp they go to.
Other players of note for Michigan:
#6 is 2014 top 50 player Clifton Garrett, a LB from Illinois who said yesterday he was going to try and go up to see Michigan this weekend.
#8 is another 2014 prospect, WR/S Tyronne Pierre who said he visited Michigan Friday before the event.
#2 is 4/5 star LB Jaylon Smith, a 2013 LB who has a top 3 of OSU, ND, and USC, and most think is leaning towards ND as of now.

snag Laquon Treadwell he is just a beast.
Didn't realize MSU in in his top group of schools... bleh.
he's kept his recruiting pretty quiet but i don't think he has shown msu that much interest. i wouldn't be concerned.
His recent delcaration of a top four is kind of a funny group. Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State.
Pretty sure everyone would be shocked if he chose MSU. Even Dantonio. He'd be like:
I would be stunned if he picked MSU but they seem to be hanging in there in his recruitment.
Seems to have been very high on UM for a long time, not sure how Okie and OkieState look to him.
MSU is loaded at WR esp with the TN transfer and a few top flight frosh. These kids like playing time and thats what UM has for him among other things of course.
Who is he? If you are asking about Treadwell, it was a possibility, but not 100%.
Yeah, he told him that he wanted to get out there but he didn't know if he could because they were going to be there and he didn't know if they could. He confirmed this with him.
After watching Cliftons sophomore highlights I would very much like to see him get an offer and go blue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsCqVgXVmaA
Was that a highlight film or a clip from The Waterboy?
Really tremendous.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but after seeing Chesson's track numbers I'm much more at ease about WR.
Wow, I didn't know this about Braylon's recruitment. Interesting how underrated he was.
Hence the whole "You have to Earn No. 1" bit from Lloyd
How many players does each of these teams have? Just trying to decipher what exactly Top 10 means... 10 out of ?
I'm guessing each team has around +10 players (7 starters + few subs) since it is a 7 v 7 tournament.
The teams I know for sure:
Max Ex, AWP, Core 6, North Shore, Gridiron Academy
The top 3 teams from this weekend are qualified to compete in the IMG 7on7 Championship in Florida.
So in 7v7 they have to run both sides of the ball? Or is there more likely 20+ players per team? Not being snarky, I genuinely do not know.
For a normal High School 7v7 it just depends on how many players show up, and usually kids will play both sides of the ball. But since quite a lot of these guys are Division One prospects the rosters are all around 19-20 I believe, 7 starters for each side, plus a couple athlete guys
There's about a 5 percent chance he goes to MSU.
There is a 69.69% chance he comes here. I would be head over heels excited if he chose the maize and blue.
I wonder if this Jared Murphy cat is worth a look at slot receiver? He's had some good camps, runs a 4.47 40, and was the only WR to give Lewis trouble in this 7 on 7 tournament.
I wouldn't be concerned, but people will find a reason to freak out over anything.
Max Ex (Shane Morris, Khalid Hill, Jourdan Lewis, etc) won
Maybe they lost in the semis but I think he was saying they won in life.
Not really, given that two of the guys ahead of them are Treadwell (4/5 star WR) and all-world LB Jaylon Smith.
He was the first Quarterback on the list so that is good. Also, in this format they have to throw every time. There is no taking off and running if no one is open. So, yes I think it is a great showcase for QB's but receivers and DBs have a huge chance to impress. With Shane already being a highly touted QB it probably makes it harder for the people judging to put him at the top psycologically b/c they want him to impress even more. Possibly, or I'm just crazy talking.
Threw some great passes to Treadwell, and he could see the two of them hooking up for many TD passes in the 2013 season and beyond!
They are on different teams. Although Treadwell did play safety against Morris and reportedly had a couple of "almost picks."
1 - tradition
2 - education
3 - every game is televised nationally
4 - catholic high schools
How did they get that NBC deal in the first place? has it been going on for a long time? Im a 91 birth year so most of the ND tradition came before my time.
N.B.C.
Well, I'll be!
I was kind of "Bleh" on Treadwell for a while because I hadn't watched his highlights. I figured everyone was lovng him because we had known about his Michigan interest for a while and he was a four star receiver. Watching his highlights from this weekend really opened my eyes. Kid has real nice hands, is big, athletic, loves that jump ball. Very impressive, though I am no talent evaluator. Would love to see him in Maize and Blue and I am pretty confident he will be.
Haha...I'm not sure what I like more about this post, the honesty or the ignorance.
"I wasn't very excited by this recruit because I decided to form an opinion contrary to everyone else without actually basing it off of any relevant information."
You have embodied the internet. You win today.
Haha I was just being honest. You know how it goes. "Oh, a four star WR from the Big Ten footprint who can qualify academically has an interest in Michigan. He is a must get!!!" I just kind of went along with it not really knowing how good Treadwell was or is.
