I know! I mean, who wouldn't want to read through 126 comments to find the lone comment that referenced this?
you are rich.
have just made my post a new thread to avoid this inevitable comment
Speaking as someone that has access to the article, things look REALLY good.
I read that as "incest" and was extremely confused on your, seemingly, love for incest.
Also, it'd be really exciting to get LT as we haven't had a real big name in wide receiver recruiting in years. The coaches obviously believe in Dukes and York but it is reassuring when the sites agree with that opinion, something Treadwell has.
Now if we can just get Isaacs as wr too
are you sure?
I believe it's code for:
Very funny, bballislife22.
I never thought he would veer from his stance to take his official visits. In my opinion, he is the most important recruit on the board. I like.
Tied with Poggi for me as well
I think I would put Poggi ahead of Treadwell, but that's more about his position than him as a player. But it's close.
I ultimately think Treadwell is more important just because we have no game breaker at the position and the depth at WR will be non-existent when he steps on campus.
I would agree that it's Treadwell 1 Poggi 2 because Mattison has shown he can mold a successful defense from less than ideal personnel, but unless you have Tom Brady quarterbacking your offense it's a lot harder to replace a gamebreaking WR. DL play is more of a group effort. Nothing gets me jacked for Michigan football more than seeing some monstrous D-linemen wandering the diag on a fall afternoon, however.
Michigan is and has always has been (save RR years) defense first. Poggi is by far more important.
Regardless of your opinion's validity, our last DL recruiting class was pretty good and included two guys who could/probably will become 3-techs. We had two solid WR's but Chesson seems like he might need some time to be ready to play. There is a slightly higher need for an elite WR. Additionally, we don't really have a shot with a lot of other elite WR after Treadwell, and we have at least some below average to decent interest from other DL recruits.
Would love both, but agree that Treadwell is our best shot at an elite WR. Really, really (really) like the kid.
And we're anxious to welcome him to the UM family.
Why? I ask in genuine puzzlement.
Because a double negative is a positive. Boom, scienced!
So where do you live, just in case? I'm assuming I'm the one who would have to do the traveling, just making sure it's worth the trip. Also, will refreshments be made available? I'd appreciate it if my thirst was quenched after all that traveling and nut kicking. Wouldn't mind a cookie or two either.
This would be an awesome development. Treadwell and a solid DT and the rest is icing.
I have no clue what to think. I've learned not to get my hopes up, but its hard not to.
Between Treadwell and Isaac my head is starting to spin.
Isaac would be great.
Treadwell would be TREMENDOUS. WOuld close out our biggest position of need (maybe in front of OL).
A woman that fine deserves real popcorn.
Just saw the avengers and her ass alone should be nominated for something.
She's in superhero yoga pants.
That's. Not. Fair.
MODS need to add categories in the 'moderate' combo box.
Suggestions: Scarlett Johansson (double points), cats, not sure if serious, like, dislike, agree, respectfully disagree
Wait, is the cats moderation a positive or negative?
Once you see it, it will be the only thing that you see. (wrist pushing bewb action)
I've been watching her eat that popcorn for hours, and I swear there's just as much popcorn in that bag now then what there was a few hours ago.
I have to try to not get excited about this. Every time I get really invested in a particular recruit and looking forward to their decision date I get Levenberryed
I had already mentally prepared myself not to expect anything significant from him until his Michigan official visit.
More like Garnetted.
left me spindled and mutilated
was a while ago, probably ought to get over it.
I agree it woulda been nice though.
Not sure if serious...
Ah I had repressed my memory of that one because the pain was too great at the time. *Sadface*
Or imagine David Dawson trucking Billy Price while wearing Maize and Blue
Both Hart and Garnett more than Levenberry. I thank Magnus for greatly lowering my opinion on Levenberry before he commited to the Noles.
or reeved. that one hurt. i don't know why. getting diamonded sucked too. i am starting to really hate hat ceremonies. haven't had an awesome hat ceremony on television since sam.
I will always upvote cat pictures on this blog.
When he states, " Anxious to make a decision," I think he means whether to eat at Burger King or KFC tonight. And I must say, that is a very tough decision.
Seriously. KFC all day. I'd go there just for the cole slaw.
Eh, I'm not a sweets kinda guy.
That pie is legit awesome. Solution: KFC, then swing through the BK drive-thru on your way home for dessert.
Have you ever been to a Taco Bell / KFC combo storefronts? Oh, my... the possible combinations are endlessly delicious. Imagine a cheese quesadilla, KFC Double Down, mashed potatoes with gravy, a few of those dollar soft tacos, and a personal bucket of fried chicken... I bet your mouth is watering now.
With the cardiologist on speed dial.
my bowels just moved
Where's the YouTube posting guy from the Chris Rock thread 'when you need him?
Oh my God. I might die in the middle, but that'd be the best meal ever.
i'm at the pizza hut, i'm at the taco bell, i'm at the combination pizza hut and taco bell.
those pies are one of my single most favorite things on earth.
choices. You'd be doing just as well to eat the toxic sludge from a sewage treatment plant.
Look at the debate I started! KFC wedges with BK's Oreo pie would be utopia. Problem solved Mr. Treadwell.
time to buckle up folks
Is he deciding with hats?
Instead of hats, he'll be using campus bell tower replicas.
It is if you jinx us. Now I must go find my tin foil hat.
You can borrow mine.
Have you never followed recruiting before??
He goes by the name of Nyles Morgan. It would be sweet if he came with him on his visit.
Just come home my dude
...with hopefully the potential for a fourteenth in what would become, in such a scenario, a class of nineteen to date, including York's commitment yesterday. These are definitely good things to contemplate - hopefully, the expedited timetable really is a good thing for Michigan.
It couldn't hurt. He would be thinking that every other good player from Illinois is going blue, so why shouldn't he?
Sorry, Pocic, shouldn't have waited so long. This is what happens when you drag out your recruitment past February of your junior year.
...and having an excellent corps of RBs never hurts obviously, but I will say that, for purposes of this class, I would be a slightly more bummed about missing out on quality WR targets than RBs only because we already do have Shallman (who Michigan recruited as an RB) and Deveon Smith for 2013, as well as Houma, Johnson and Norfleet in the incoming class this year.
Treadwell is a burner, extends the field; would open up running and receiving lanes for Isaac. All this behind a great wall with a top QB: Take note, Ty and Laquon. Go Blue!
The anticipation is excruciating, yet delightful. Please happen.
Looks who has stepped into the on-deck circle...
is great news!!! I think the 2 WR commiting yesterday casued this. Who else is he going to pick? MICHIGAN has always been the leader! GO BLUE!!!
If he's anxious, just call Hoke and tell him he's accepting the offer already. It's not a complicated thing to do, unless he's trying to find press conference space and a selection of hats from 13 different schools who have offered him.
Ahhhh Kate......my shorts just got tighter.
Looks like something has upset him and now is saying no visit.......
Best part about the Dawson/Price video is when the drill is over Price has a look on his face like, this guy is going to be kicking my ass for years to come.
I am buckled the F UP!
Could there be a better situation than Michigan for Treadwell?
1. Absolute stud quarterback, arguably best pro-style in the nation
2. Quarterback is in the same class so they'll have 4 solid years to develop the chemistry all great QB WR tandems possess.
3. Wide open clear path to immediate playing time.
4. Pro style offense
5. Bona fide offensive genius/mastermind in Borges (just see the last 6 plays or so called in the UTL game last year)
The road to a successful NFL career could not be more plain.
Come on Laquon, you know where the best opportunity is.
The sooner you commit, the more likely you will influence other nationally ranked athletes to join a class that should compete for a national championship by junior year.
are you on the M debate team, or what?
7. A slew of behemoth top-notch offensive linemen to push other teams around, opening enormous holes for running backs, and giving the aforementioned stud quarterback hours to find open receivers.
But seriously... Go Blue!!!
Says all sorts of good
I actually thought of that Tally and forgot to list it. Good thing because I wouldn't have articulated it as eloquently as you did.
And thanks for the link Tripp...good read.
I really hope we get Treadwell! He would compliment our two other recievers in this class. Csonte York will suprise everyone, I think the kid plays with GREAT passion and heart which are two intangibles. He is not so arrogant that he is not excited after big plays, the kid wants to win and be the best and I think he will work until he gets their which IF we get Treadwell that will only push him harder because he is a worker for sure. Jaron will need to get faster but will be a great redzone threat when his time comes. I hope all of them are huge contributors in year one though! Go BLUE!
Average WR height in last six recruiting classes:
2008 - 71.3"
2009 - 70.5"
2010 - 72.5"
2011 - No receivers
2012 - 74.5"
2013 - 75.5"
No disrespect to the shorter guys, they have a ton of heart, but given our offensive philosophy I'll take the added size.
So, he decides to cancel/postpone his visit to Ann Arbor after Nebraska visits him, and he is now "anxious" to make a decision. I don't understand how this is necessarily good news for U of M.
I also could not fathom why he would choose Nebraska over U of M, for many of the reasons stated above.
People overestimate the influence of in-school visits. They aren't actually allowed to directly/intentionally meet the players. Rather, they talk to the coaches, and if they happen to run into the players then they can talk briefly. It's not like they're able to do some huge recruiting plug for their program.
Fair enough. So is the thinking that he is postponing the visit because he is just going to make his announcment very soon - preferably Blue?
I'm guessing he cancelled because of personal reasons, rather than a recruiting related one. So, I think he'll be in Ann Arbor next weekend, and if he does plan on committing soon, then it would likely be then.
I guess I will stay buckled up.
I Hope he commits soon. He would be a great pick up!
