Beyond that, I have this suspicion that they will also find a way to have Cortana only answer R-rated questions after 8 PM, which is fine, but then I can only imagine the sorts of calls that would descend on Microsoft, especially the people who pay for tech support, have questions about leather and vinyl and the like, and don't want to hear about "pending requests".

Siri is dating some dude named LInux or Linus or somesuch. And they are thinking about spawning together, although supposedly a parent takes issue with this and there is a bad boy waiting in the wings. Their old cats are CLIPS and JESS. C++ insofar as I can telnet.

AI is hardly new, but the amount of money being spent on AI is going up exponentially as are its implications. Ultimately, AI/robotics raises has the potential to change the way we live and not only in good ways.

First visit I had to UM was during IJCAI '89 in Detroit.  Impressive AI work, including robotics, shown during our tour.

AI was much more of the big new thing in tech back then, then it fell off a cliff.  From a History of AI paper, here's the Hype Cycle for AI:
