I didn't know that Bleacher Report was hated (frankly, I don't know anything about it), but I'd say that people read it (or anything else with a drizzle of anything including the words "Michigan football") because we're bored.

Our football season was terrible.  Our bball season wasn't much better.  We've got a long way to go until we can hang our hats on anything positive.  So...I'm cool to read a list of someone's thoughts on what might happen next year or the year after.  I've read many posts on the 3-3-5, the QBs and even Demar Dorsey and his allegedly sticky-but-rehabilitated fingers.  That link is just one of many to entertain a legion of bored fans waiting for Michigan to return to form.

I'm surprised the OP hasn't been negged into the "no posting" point total after the DeAnthony Arnett thread, but perhaps this post will the be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

If people think Michigan is struggling now, they are in for a rude awakening if DeBord comes in as head coach. I knew his son in middle school before he took the job at CMU and they moved away, so I like the guy, but look at what he did at CMU and how our offense underperformed while under his control.

Honestly, the only person that I see on that list that there is a mutual interest between them and Michigan is Harbaugh. Everyone else either not proven themselves enough or probably wouldn't be interested.

and certainly the last. Their presentation of Michigan is astounding. Michigan isn't a high profile enough job for the BSU coach? Absolutely ridiculous.

I think that Pat Fitzgerald will be very interested.  He says he's happy where he is, but that's what everybody says before they switch jobs.  Butch Davis was never going to leave Miami.  Brian Kelly was going to stay and continue to build the Cincinnati program.  Urban Meyer was happy at Utah.  Tommy Bowden loved Tulane.  Rich Rodriguez was perfectly content at West Virginia.

Until somebody came calling with more money.

I see your point, but Fitzgerald is completely different.

He's young, successful, and coaching the team that he played for only a decade ago. Also, it's not as though Northwestern just randomly picked him up--he got promoted when Randy Walker suddenly died and if that doesn't tie you to a job, I don't know what does.

Do you really think there's any chance he's going to just pack up and not only leave, but join another Big Ten team?

Absolutely I think there's a chance.  Huge overacheivers like Fitzgerald don't get to where they are in life without a constant desire for improvement.  At Michigan, he has a chance to compete for the Big Ten title every year and the national championship maybe a few times a decade.  Plus, he'll be making two to three times as much money.  That doesn't make it a done deal for Michigan, but I'll bet he'll listen and give it a lot of consideration.

We can have the whole Chicago media base go berserk that Fitzgerald would leave.  We'll hear about missing records.  Shredders operating 24/7.  Fitzgerald's real estate investments gone bad. Coaches laying down in championship games so they can hightail it out of town for better jobs.  What fun!

posting stuff about our head coach getting fired is not good for us at all. Enough of the media does this everyday and every other fan base. I understand getting Michigan stuff on this board is the purpose but becareful what you post we have some recruits that come on here and their family as well.

We need to get behind Rich Rod as fans because no one else is right now. Just remember how young this team has been and I think Rich is going to be our coach for a long long time since he will be turning this thing around this year. I wish someone posted something good about our head coach for once. If you like him or not taking shots at him is taking shots at Michigan. Not saying you are with this post so don't take it the wrong way , i'm just tired of the 2 post a day about Rich getting fired from some media outlet!

Well, the link I posted reflects the sentiment that some people have that RR is on the hot seat, and the fact that some people feel that way is hardly a secret that a recruit is only going to learn about by coming here and seeing this thread.

The article was posted for discussion, and it exists whether I linked to it or not, and its a little baffling to me that so many of you would get so pissed off over a thread inviting people to discuss a particular topic, especially when it expressed no opinion whatsoever.

The list includes Mike DeBord, Ron English and .....Les Miles? OP as soon as you read this article you should have drank a 5th of Whiskey to forget that you read this bullshit. NONSENSE I TELL YOU SIMPLY NONSENSE. Everyone knows that if RR gets fired Brian Cook is getting the head coaching job.

...suggestion.  Putting that kind of context in your original post may have prevented this thread from going in the direction it did.  You would still have had at least one post questioning your sanity for reading Bleacher Report, but you might have been able to be in on some of the jokes about the post's ridiculous candidate list.  Moral of the story: don't just post a link -- add a thought -- or in the parlance, provide us with your take.

What direction is that? People are entitled to their opinions.
That is true. However people also have the right to tell other people that they are fucking idiots for their opinions. Not that you are an idiot. I mean you read bleacher report..........

I actually don't know much about bleacher report, I don't think I've ever visited the site before today, and I certainly didn't know that it had this notorious reputation here. I just saw the article posted on another forum, saw that it had to do with Michigan, and figured people here would want to discuss it.

The irony here is that you clowns are attacking me for linking to website that you've apparently vistied more far times than I ever have.
