Tony Jefferson?

Submitted by Rico616 on

Anyone know the work on Tony Jefferson? According to scout he's a 4-star safety from California who recently dropped USC and they say is planning an official to Michigan yet stating he has "no interest".

Some stats I could find on him though.

6'0"-6'2"
197-202 lbs.
Plays OLB/RB, recruited as Safety
255 lb bench
455 lb squat
Scholarships from: USC, Georgia, ND, Florida, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Michigan.

Would like to major in engineering and has an SAT score of 1400.

Jefferson: “I can run through people. That definitely makes it easier because most people can’t put a move on me. I go at 100-percent and don’t let guys escape. I can keep them contained.

Is he a type of guy youd like to see wearing the Maize and blue? Looks like a smart kid who likes to hit. Jefferson back there w/Robinson and Christian? How's that sound like a nice DB recruiting class?

I seen that as well ... Scout is always a bit slow with there bottom of the player profile interest updates ... Rivals has him interested and he obviously is by giving us a official.

He seems like a good all around athlete and we know RR loves those guys ..so im sure we want him.

Also im keeping my fingers crossed with the Marvin Rob situation .. i hear UNC and Georgia are sticking on him hard and he is taking visits .. but i stay positive

Well if thats the case it's a good thing RR and co. are still recruiting 2 premier safeties in Brandon Ifill and Tony Jefferson.

I would like to see a really good recruiting class by Rodriguez othe than the obvious to win games but to show the doubters and naysayers that if he can recruit like this after a 3-9 season, wait til he win 9-10 games.

I don't think we have anything to worry about ... I would like a free trip to Chapel Hill and Athens too. Book my trip to Austin and Tempe while you are at it! All in January please.

M Robinson has been to AA a couple times and committed after being very heavily recruited by RR for at least a year.

So far (fingers crossed) the only RR decommits have been guys who never stepped foot on campus before pledging (both Groves and D. Jones) or guys UM offered then cooled off on (Peace and Barnes). Robinson fits neither of these.

But the punch in the gut if he did bolt.....

Rivals says hes from Memphis, Tn and that his only offers are Arkansas, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

* And I'm retarded, theres two Tony Jeffersons. My bad.

I'm not trying to knock the kid's ambitions to be an engineer, but the new SAT is out of 2400 and assuming that is what he took, a 1400 is not very impressive.

I'm going to need you to better define the word "soon." It's the off-season, and I have nothing better to do than hit refresh every 30 seconds until I see your update. If that "something" comes out in two days, I'll have missed a lot of sleep, and a little bit of work as well.

Okay, maybe I won't be refreshing every 30 seconds, but the season is still a month and a half away, and I'm craving substance!

Rivals just covered him as well in the Wolverine; I think he has Michigan high on his list. Listed 45 in the Rivals 100, out of CA (Eastlake). He's played 2 years of HS ball; his So. year at LB/RB and Jr. year at SS/RB. I don't think Michigan's ever recruited at his HS before. I'm looking forward to Tom's interview. He's projecting at safety I think.

Yeah, he's smart, likes to hit, 4 star ranking at a position of need. . .
but I'm more concerned with that "now you see it, now you don't" 5 lbs of his.
Is it 197?
or is it 202?
If he can't decide what weight he is then I don't want him playing for Michigan!

He is one of 4 really good (projected) safeties out of California. It is very likely he was a silent to usc at one time (from as early as January to May if not longer) and has slowly been adding more and more schools into consideration. The depth chart is definitely working against usc in this case, there was no 2nd, or 3rd place for him until really the past month I think. And the more schools that he adds the more they will tell him he will ride the pine down there in the ghetto.

I would be surprised for usc to take more than 2 safeties this year after taking 3-4 last year and they just recently picked up a commitment from Bailey another of top 4 in the area and it is also pretty likely they have a silent from Riley the 3rd of the 4 on the list. So it would make sense for him to be looking elsewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a pac10 school get into his official visit list, in particularly ucla. I was pretty surprised to see PSU make his current official visit list, I just can't see that one but who knows what he is actually thinking. Definitely looking forward to Tom's interview
