Tony Jefferson: #4 safety according to rivals considering Michigan?

Submitted by Stewart52 on
Alright so I have a friend from Chula Vista, CA (where Tony Jefferson is from) and apparently Tony Jefferson isn't a solid verbal to UCLA, and has interest in coming to U of M. My friend talked to him on the phone, and apparently a coach from U of M (my friend never asked him who) went to his game a couple weeks ago and he was interviewed by MGoBlue (although I couldn't find an interview on a quick scan of the site). I guess Tony's really indecisive, and switched his verbal like three times (USC, Cal, and Notre Dame in the mix). I'm not saying he's switching his commitment, but I guess he has legit interest and will be visiting here on 11/6 (Purdue). The video my friend made me watch was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScVAmtCeHws Skip to 3:08 to see the bone-crushing hit he delivers... as a running back. Fingers crossed for good safeties. If you see him make sure you give him a shout out.

on his part. And an update from Scout today said his trip is being moved to OSU instead of Purdue so hopefully he does make that trip for whichever game. Safeties that stay as safeties are obviously a need at this point.

I doubt they would let the general public meet with recruits anyway. Ps the guy who knows Tony Jefferson is Nate the pledge (this is Will Stewart fyi)

I can think of no better way to ensure a recruit heads off to another school than if he were to be introduced to Mr Michigan Message Board Guy. Maybe you could have him autograph your forehead if you do meet him, like some other really cool guy on this board did with Denard Robinson!

There's no reason to tell others the identity of someone who knows a potential recruit. The information is useless for most, but there are idiots here who might try to contact him so that they could feel a little closer to the recruiting process (because they talked to a guy who knows a recruit).

It really would not be that hard.* And considering how much feelings Michigan football engenders in people, it isn't worth taking the risk. And its not so much about this specific case. It's more about the general principle that nothing is gained by posting anyone else's identity. "Nate the pledge" doesn't make your source seem any more legitimate than your anonymous friend. It's fine if he doesn't care (I probably wouldn't), but at the same time, there is absolutely nothing useful gained by posting anything about him. *I won't post how you would do it, for obvious reasons.

I wasn't trying to make my source sound legitimate, merely trying to inform Bouje that he has a connection to Tony Jefferson too. In the end though you're probably right. For lack of a better term, the risk/reward of posting anything that reveals anything about anyone's identity is better off not being stated, because you don't know who'll read it. Won't do it again.

Yeah, do that. That's a great idea because if you don't I guarantee no one else will put in a good word about Michigan on his recruitment trip where he gets treated like a king. That would be unheard of for a recruiter to talk good about his school!
